Has anyone heard from University of Cincinnati with interview dates? I'm getting worried.....:scrying:

The is actually a Marriott Hotel on campus. It's called the Kingsgate Marriott:

It may be a little expensive depending on your budget, but it's right next (literally) to the School of Nursing.

I went to UC for my BSN and if you want a place to stay close to campus, the Marriott Kingsgate Hotel is located right beside the College of Nursing and is a short 2 minute walk to University Hospital. I know that the hotel is a bit pricey, around $175 a night, but you are right there on the medical campus and by University Hospital. Below is the link for the hotel:

Otherwise, I can't really think of any other hotels that are close besides downtown or about a mile or two north of campus. Good luck.

Thanx everyone!!! I'm from lexington, just a couple hours away, but prior to interviews I like to know where Im going, so I plan on going up the day before to look around.

Got my Acceptance email from University of Cincinnati!!!! Such an exciting moment!

Thanks Perkizme, for everything. Do you have any recommendations, as far as what to do prior to starting (take stats, read over Morgan, mickhail, and murray). Any recommendations on places to stay in Cincy?

The typical pre-SRNA (or RNSA if you're @ UC) advice is to enjoy your family/friends, relax, save up/work extra OT, take the best vacation you can afford, if you can- you can try to take some grad courses ahead of time, and if you want to review anything maybe the nervous system and basic chem/physics. They will teach you everything you need to know so now may be a good time to read non-school books if you're a reader- little time for that once school starts. Saving up $$ to try to take a little extra time off work before school is good stuff too!

If you're moving here, it depends on how much you want to dish out for rent- theyre are really nice and really not-so-nice neighborhoods near UC. Out of my classmates who have moved here, 2 live w/i walking distance of UC (Clifton- some parts can be scary IMO), a few live in Northern KY (about 10-15m away), others are about 5-15 min away in nicer areas (hyde park and oakley). The rest of us are in the suburbs (20-25m away) and 2 commute about 1.5-2hrs each way (i do not recommend this at all if you can help it). UC's pretty central to Cincinnati and so are the majority of your clinical sites - you can easily access it from I-71 or I-75, so you can pretty much live just about anywhere here.

you can always PM me w/questions~

Hey, I live in Cincinnati and was also accepted into UC for 2010! I went to UC for undergrad and lived around the Clifton area during school. While it was not too expensive and close to campus, it is often not the safest place late at night or early in the morning. While I never had any problems when living in Clifton for four years, I did have a friend that was held up at gun point twice late at night in an area around main campus and another friend that was mugged as well. As long as you are in a group late at night though it has always been safe to me. After I graduated I moved to Hyde Park and that is where my wife and I live now. It is a bit more expensive, but you can't beat the neighborhood or the quick 10 minute drive to UC. If you need any help with the area you can always pm me as well and I would be happy to help.

Don't know if anyone is still checking this post but if so I have a question. I to recieved an email from UC placing me on the list for acceptance. Does this mean we are definetly in because it said it woulbe presented to college of nursing committe for their approval? I assumed it was just a formality but thought I would ask to see what everyone else thought.

you're in~ I got a little nervous last year too when I saw that - but I'm pretty sure you're in (you can always contact the PD for the official - it's probably a formality like you said)

Thanks for the reply. Makes me feel alot better.

Check your email. Yesterday I received a more formal email stating I was officially accepted. There are multiple attachments in the email, such as admissions acceptance form, critical requirements, and handbook. I was expecting to get snail mail, but it came in email form.
