University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) MECN 2024

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I did not see a conversation on UCLA MECN 2024. This is a topic for everyone who has applied to the MECN program for 2024! Good luck everyone, I am getting a little nervous. We should get acceptance letters by mid-February!

Deadline to Submit the Statement of Intent to Register is April 15, 2024 for anyone wondering.

Does it say when you have to let them know you accept by? Just wondering when some of us might get off the waitlist!

Yes, the deadline is April 15.

For those who got accepted, do you mind sharing your stats? Thank you in advance !!

For anyone accepted, did you submit your app early on or near the deadline? Also, would anyone mind sharing the first letter of their last name? I am wondering if it is going by last name

Yeah I want to know as well! This waiting game is driving me insane LOL

My last name starts with an M. I submitted my application November 2, so extremely late. @NurseMar613 What kind of stats are you asking about? My UCLA undergrad GPA was 3.5, I got all A's on my prerequisites except for chemistry (B) and Microbiology (C). Im a medical malpractice paralegal. Hope this helps :0

Also I would like to add that I got my letters of recommendation from 1 professor (Microbiology), my senior paralegal supervisor, and a midwife from the OB/Gyn clinic I volunteered at. They advise these are who u go to for letters of rec, current RN's are a huge positive, also 1 job related person and an academic letter. Also something else I thought was interesting when I spoke to Geimy Gama, she said to put down every and all extracurriculars for example a "beach clean up in high school".

I have a bachelor's and a master's in biology from Iran, GPA 3.83 and 4.00, respectively. I completed all my prerequisites within the past 2 years at a California community college and got an A in all of them. I'm environmental scientist working for the state. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the long posts, But I meant put them down on your résumé! If anyone has any additional questions, my IG is dani.dan.co ! goodluck to those still on their journeys to nursing school !

Yes this helps! Thank you! Did you have any direct patient hours when you applied as well?

@NurseMar613 Yes I did but I actually did them super last minute, at a small OB/Gyn clinic. I assisted providers with spanish to english translation and ultrasounds
