Hello everyone,
I did not see a conversation on UCLA MECN 2024. This is a topic for everyone who has applied to the MECN program for 2024! Good luck everyone, I am getting a little nervous. We should get acceptance letters by mid-February!
My last name starts with an M. I submitted my application November 2, so extremely late. @NurseMar613 What kind of stats are you asking about? My UCLA undergrad GPA was 3.5, I got all A's on my prerequisites except for chemistry (B) and Microbiology (C). Im a medical malpractice paralegal. Hope this helps :0
Also I would like to add that I got my letters of recommendation from 1 professor (Microbiology), my senior paralegal supervisor, and a midwife from the OB/Gyn clinic I volunteered at. They advise these are who u go to for letters of rec, current RN's are a huge positive, also 1 job related person and an academic letter. Also something else I thought was interesting when I spoke to Geimy Gama, she said to put down every and all extracurriculars for example a "beach clean up in high school".

I have a bachelor's and a master's in biology from Iran, GPA 3.83 and 4.00, respectively. I completed all my prerequisites within the past 2 years at a California community college and got an A in all of them. I'm environmental scientist working for the state. Hope this helps.

Yes this helps! Thank you! Did you have any direct patient hours when you applied as well?
@NurseMar613 Yes I did but I actually did them super last minute, at a small OB/Gyn clinic. I assisted providers with spanish to english translation and ultrasounds
