Inspirationalpropofol—class size is 15 which they mentioned during the in-person info session at UC Davis. Dr. Jake said its possible to open up to 20 if there are very strong candidates but they prefer to start with a smaller cohort of 15.

Oh wow that is prob why they're having such a hard time even sending out second app invites.. bc they're really looking for a small cohort. Thanks for sharing this info. This feels like it'll be a very competitive app process.

Oh thank you for that information. I wonder how many people they will even interview..

Such a small cohort, they must be very selective then.

I believe they were planning on interviewing 40 and selecting 14-16

What will the second application consist of if selected to proceed?

It's not been shared but from their graduate UC Davis portal it's stated as photo attached.

im sure we won't need to do another letter of rec or transcripts but seems like they'll ask more questions to answer on top of personal statements, resume etc this time.
and the application fee is $135 for their graduate app...

I hope it's discounted for us.

No, I think when we get the invite to move on, they'll probably give us a link or directions on how to complete part two.

hopefully we hear back early January.
happy holidays everyone btw 🙂

Hi everyone,

Currently in ABSN, any advice on getting into ICU as a new grad? I graduate 10/25 and am really aspiring to become a CRNA. Has anyone gotten into this program or know of people who have.

STATS: ABSN GPA 3.66

It's possible to get into ICU as a new grad. Can be stressful but anything is possible with dedication. Check out county hospitals or smaller hospitals who are willing to train new grads in the ICU. I know LAC/USC trains new grads in the ICU but that's in LA, not sure where you are. And this is the first application cycle for this CRNA program, it's new. Hope the info helps.

I would say, apply everywhere. Even hospitals or locations that are not your top choice, but if they're hiring new grads for ICU, I would apply everywhere. Also if you can and want to, I would work as a CNA or even as a sitter at the hospital you want to work at, and treat that job like it's a daily interview. connections aren't everything but it does help, so work before applying for new grad positions if you can.
