Hi everyone!Could anyone tell me which schools/universities in Australia that offers a Nursing Conversion Program or a 1-year Nursing course for overseas nurses. Thank you!!!:)

Aug 23, 2011 a friend of mine is currently studying at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia. I am not sure if its the RN conversion program, but that's the closest I can think of because bridging programs just take weeks. Her program is a year. She started July this year. But it took her a year of processing, from school application to visa processing.
alchemy 10 Posts Aug 24, 2011 Thank you Silverdragon102 and iamnomad! Yes i had visited the website of Flinder University but they don't offer the conversion program. What they have are with honours and graduate entry for nursing. But I'm not sure if both will guarantee for the registration in the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia (NMBA) to become a Registered Nurse. Since that's what I'm after for. :hrnsmlys:

Aug 24, 2011 if AHPRA registration is your goal, why not apply for registration, and wait for AHPRA's assessment (which depending on states, maybe 2-9 months), then if eligible, you can do a bridging program for just 12 weeks.

I assume you already applied for AHPRA - RN registration. Because they will tell if you need a bridging program or not, to register or not. And you'll need their letter to be able to apply to a bridging program.re: Royal Adelaide Hospital. I just had a chat with my friend, who's studying in Flinders, and she said the hospital is not really hiring right now. She said it's mostly the nursing homes in regional areas that hire as of this time.
