Is anyone enrolled or been accepted into The University of Arizona's BSN-DNP program. I've been accepted into the Fall program and I would like to know how the program set up is and what to expect.

Thanks,

May I ask how difficult was it to get accepted? I have an overall gpa of 3.1 and 3.5 in nursing. Will this get me into the program? Also, what is the tuition rate? I can't seem to find it anywhere on the site. Thanks!

Per their website, this is the link for the tuition of Fall 2012: http://oc.arizona.edu/sites/default/files/semester-based/tuition_fall_2012.pdf. See pages 6-7 for DNP rates.
Their DNP program tuition is apparently done thru the Outreach College.
Tuition rates are on the website, as far as acceptance goes I am wondering the same thing. It would make sense that they would prefer experience but we shall see. They state on their website that you need to have a minimum BSN GPA of 3.0, 3.5 for MSN. I would assume that a "competitive GPA" would be anything above 3.5 (competitive for med schools is a 3.5). I have a total BSN GPA of 3.75, and a community college GPA of like 2.77. I have 6 months of case management experience (quit case management to find bedside nursing job which was probably dumb) and currently work as a bartender... They announce who is accepted in March, I'll let you know what happens!

Sarrah, how did you apply to this? I am looking to apply to the same program, but when I go on the application, it says that they aren't accepting applications.
Then you may be doing something incorrectly because they applications are DEFINITELY still open. I would suggest using the "contact us" tab, specifically outline the issue that you are having (there are two applications: one to the "graduate school" and one to the "nursing school" that are required). They are SUPER fast to respond, almost always within two business days. Also calling them has been effective for me. I'm impressed by the professionalism of U of A thus far (far better than my BSN experience with Camberlain) and am looking forward to working with them further.
Update: I called and spoke to them regarding acceptance rate: there were 170 applicants last year, with 80 slots available. There are also 80 slots available this year but they are expecting closer to 200 or more applicants. Good luck everyone :)
Finally figured it out. Turns out I wasn't supposed to select specialties on the grad school application. They were a lot of help on the phone and email. Did they mention what the statistics are? Such as GPA, male to female, years experience etc..

Just sent my application in to UA. Super nervous! I find it weird that it seems like they base acceptance only on gpa and the short personal statements. Well good luck to all and let's keep in touch!
Does anyone know the stats (Gpa, experience, etc) of last years class, or of any of this years applicants?
I also have tried to find out what the statistics look like... All I know is that there were 180 applicants and there are 80-100 slots. Let me know if you hear anything. :) fingers crossed for us all!
