Hello Everyone,

Just want to know who else is apply to Nursing After Degree Program for Fall 2018.

I have already applied and will be taking one last prereq course through Macewan this winter term.

does anyone know what is the competitive GPA for fall intake?

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to all who got in. I’ve applied for fall 2019 and I’m taking my last prerequisite at U of A this spring. Has anyone taken spring term prerequisite before? Does it get calculated into your GPA? I’m afraid it will be cut since the document deadline is on June 15. I hope I could get in this year (my GPA is 3.82 as of now...finger crossed I’ll get at least B on my last prereq.)

Hi Pj_CH,

I think it will be counted. My spring courses were counted. But you can always call and ask.

All the best!

Thank you magicianfinger! Were all your grades posted before June15? They said it’s up to the prof to have the grades in before the deadline. I guess I’ll have to talk to my professor about it. I don’t want to wait another whole year for the next intake.

Hi Pj_CH,

About that, my spring courses were from my first degree. You still have some time. Good luck!

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to everyone who got in. If you don’t mind me asking, is there anyone who got in with a GPA around 3.6? My GPA is 3.69, I don’t know if it’s competitive enough to get in? I applied for fall 2019 but haven’t heard anything back yet. I’m starting to worry. Thanks so much!

In previous years it seemed that if you have a 3.5+ you get in - some people even get in with less (one person said some in their cohort last year were as low as 3.3). This was a response someone got after inquiring about GPAs:

Quote

Offers of admission are made any time between October to August. Applications are not considered in isolation so while all the applicant's documents may be available, those of the other applicants may not yet be processed. The Faculty will try its best to process all applications in a timely manner and give replies as soon as possible. If the application status says “Decision Pending”, this means it has yet to be processed or if processed the AGPA is below the current level being accepted but above the minimum to enter the competition and has not yet been denied. Results of 3.5 on the 4.0 scale or better will probably be required for admission and is only calculated using the most recent 24 credits, regardless of how many you have taken

I'm hoping it's still a 3.5 though! My AGPA is only like 3.52 because they converted grades from my masters in the UK weird.

Hello,

Please I am currently taking the periquisite for the after degree nursing program, because I plan to apply for fall 2020. My Cgpa for my first degree is 3.6 on a 5-point scale I am confused as to whether it's competitive enough.

Regards,
