Hello Everyone,

Just want to know who else is apply to Nursing After Degree Program for Fall 2018.

I have already applied and will be taking one last prereq course through Macewan this winter term.

does anyone know what is the competitive GPA for fall intake?

Hi!

I am currently on the fence about the program, but I am very inclined to apply. I am planning on finishing the prerequisites and currently waiting on permission to enrol in a Microbiology course. I am not sure about the GPA, but I can imagine it would be competitive. Tempted to say over 3.5...?

Are you from Edmonton?

I called the office and she said GPA is currently 3.5 and it has been this for past few years as well. Unless applicant pool changes drastically, it should stay 3.5.

yes i am from edmonton and i really hope to get in. where are you from?

Hey! I also applied for Fall 2018, but I have no idea about what the GPA cutoff is.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I was a bit thrown off by the application process. I got into UBC last year (but then moved to Germany in September, so declined the offer) and for their application I had to take the CASPeR test and have letters of reference, along with a pretty in-depth application form.

Am I missing something for the U of A application or is it totally just based off of GPA?

During my intake year (2015), it was absolutely based on GPA - as was the year after. Our competitive GPA was around 3.5, with the average being 3.7ish. I don't think much has changed.

Wow, I didn't realise.. it's kind of nice that you don't have to go through all the hoops that other schools need.

I'm applying for the honors program, and I just recently talked to someone at the U of A and they said that the application is different and they do need other information, but they don't contact you about those other things until after the deadline... Does anyone know what else they need?

Hello,

Does anyone know when the admission offers are being sent out? And if they are sent all at once or individually?

I just received my offer a few days ago. I'm not sure if they send them out all at once or individually, but I would assume they stagger them. Good luck!!

I received my offer too. There was a delay in sending my transcript. Does anyone know if UA is still implementing CBL?

Also, is there a Facebook page established for UAlberta Nursing AD Class of 2020?

Congrats! Mine took longer than expected too... I applied to the honors AD program and got approved, but decided it wasn't for me so I had to switch my choice of program.

Not sure about the CBL...

I saw there was a "UAlberta- AD Nursing- Class of 2019" but I haven't seen anything for 2020. It would be great to have a fb group for our year!

Hi everyone. Ive applied for the after degree 2018 and finishing up micro at 0athabasca. Congrats to those that have received admission . Couple questions what were your GPA and how do they calculate the agpa? And finally how many students are they accepting

I *think* they calculate the AGPA from the grades in your most recent two terms, if they have at least 24 credits. If you don't have at least 24 credits, then they add all courses from the previous term to the average (and so on until at least 24 credits are included). Mine was 3.93

Good luck!!!
