University of Alabama

Hello Everyone,

Those of you who are currently attending or who had attended University of Alabama online NP program. Can you please tell me your opinion on their NP program? When I finish my program, I'm considering being a FNP. This is one of the schools I have been reading about.

Thanks In Advance

I like UAB online and have no problem...except maybe the tests are too hard!:)

i am planning on applying to UAB and south alabama...who knows where else. i am still torn between a brick and mortar school vs on-line. the more i research, the more i am leaning toward on-line.

Specializes in ICU/CCU/MICU/SICU/CTICU.

I am currently in the online FNP program at UAB. I love everything about it. Sometimes the papers can be a pain, but other than that, I wouldnt do it any other way.

Good luck!

Just a FYI....UAB FNP hopefuls---apply early! Currently, the 2006 class is full. They are now taking fall 2007 apps!! It definitely is an economical, thorough program and the faculty seem to be pretty helpful in the app process! They also asked if I wanted to do the Palliative Care NP program...you get the chance to sit for the FNP and Palliative Care cert...there is no wait list for this program...if you're interested in end-of- life care.

Are your exams done online? Are the instructors helpful?

Yes. For the course I'm in now (pathophysio) there are 60 multiple choice questions and you have 90 minutes to complete it. Yes, the instructors have been very helpful. You can even download lecture notes.
