Has anyone heard of Unitek nursing program? I was looking to attend but just wanted to hear from someone who has been there before. what was the program like? do you feel like you got your money's worth? did they prepare you to become a good nurse? would you reccomend their program to others like family? once you've become an LVN is it eaisy to transfer to an CC or a university- to do the LVN to RN portion? sorry for all the questions but really want to know what i'm getting into before i give away my money! thanks for any help you may offer.
Uniteks LVN program is about $22,000+. Why not go to Grant adult Ed for your LVN. It is in Sacramento and costs $8,000.
OK I know you posted this a loooong time ago lol
Are you talking about Grant Unified School District? I just read this post a few minutes ago, I tried to find the program on google, but didn't find much. that's what you were talking about right? if not can you tell me please?
I live in Sac and part time schooling is what I need right now.

Hi Kellyma, the school district changed it's name to Twin Rivers.. so that's probably why you couldn't find it on google. The price is now around 16,000 not 8,000.
This is a link to the site: Twin Rivers Adult School: Home Page
There's not much info on the site but I know the pre reqs are anatomy and physiology, med term and cna or ma license.. and there's an entrance exam. the program is part time and lasts almost two years.

thanks you saved me some searching
I know these posts are a little old-- I'm starting the program in the Fall. I chose it because it was the only one I could start in immediately (in my area) that's accredited, and didnt require a ton of pre reqs that would take me more time and money to do.It's a lot of money, but they really worked with me, answered all my questions. They have a really high pass and job placement rate as well-- the Sacramento campus.
It is fast, 11months, full time school. There are breaks... anyhow, if anyone has more questions-- I'll try to answer once I'm in the program and graduate! :)
Hi strawbrykiwi,
Have you completed the RN program at Unitek? How is the program? Is it really 11 months total? What is the total cost? Does Sacramento have Financial Aid?
I have taken all my prerequisites at Sacramento City community college and will now be applying at 4 different ADN programs, but I have heard the wait can be really long. Do you think this would be a faster option?
Thank you!
