Hope everyone is doing well. I write this post in the hopes of finding other current students of USU's FNP program; specifically, those that are starting this January as well. I applied and was accepted for the January cohort however, I wanted to hear if others have insight about their program based on personal experience. I'd be so grateful for any input.
Thank you!
Great information! I'm in the Chamberlain program. I'm taking online classes and would like to start a support group. Any suggestions on how I can do this on Allnurses? FB? Is there a way to find other FNP Chamberlain students on LinkedIN? I really would like to connect with people who are going through this program. I feel somewhat alone in this because every thing is online. Also, you mentioned not working the second year. I haven't worked since Aug of 2020. I'm currently taking my third FNP class. Should I even bother going back to work? Financially I can take time off to complete the full program, but I'm more concerned about looking for an NP job with no recent RN experience. Correct me if I am wrong. Again, thank you for your advice.
I am strongly leaning towards going for the program with United States University for March 2022 start date. Anyone else?
I did set up my student portal and now I can see who my academic advisor and clinical placement coordinator are. For current students, is Alexis Moore any good? She will be my clinical placement coordinator. Academic advisor is Alicia Graham.
Hello I will be starting March 1st and I was wondering what the classes are like. I just asked and we have no recorded lectures. Does that mean you just learn on your own. Is it actually doable? and they require a 84% or above to pass a class. I am just anxious about it. Scared that ill just have my degree and not learn anything. Please advise.
It’s totally doable. The lowest grade I have received so far is a 98. If you do the work and follow the rubric, you’re fine. It is very much self taught. I am about to finish patho, and you definitely get out of it what you put into it. No recorded lectures, which would be nice. Feel free to email me if you’re finding yourself with more questions.

I liked your post. I am thinking to back to School for FNP in USU. If someone can answer few of my questions that will be very helpful.
I wanted to know how’s your program overall?
It’s online course. So is it more group work?
Any involvement with professor if you have any questions?
I live in Western time zone so do you think it will be difficult for me to catch you with online since I work 8:30am to 5:00pm?
Website says approximately $32000 for FNP program. Are there any other fees on top of that? Like proctored test fees or something like that.
any other suggestions or feedback is accepted. Thank you in advance. Bless you!
I’m a year in, and so far I don’t have any real complaints. I knew from the start that it would be more of a self-taught program, so I was not surprised by that like some are.
There isn’t too much group work (so far anyway) till you are 3 or 4 classes in. But I didn’t mind it because it forced me to get to know some of the classmates which I have stayed in touch with.
All of my professors have been very responsive to questions, I know some students complain about that, but I’ve been lucky I guess. There are a few who are slow at grading which is annoying, but if you have questions they are usually pretty quick to respond.
I work 7-5 in MST, have a family, and don’t have a problem with meeting deadlines. It all comes down to your time management. The school is PST so everything is always due by 1 am my time, which gives me plenty of time.
As far as price, what they tell you in the beginning is the price you pay, which is nice. Also, if they raise tuition, your price is locked in so you won’t pay a higher price. The only extra that I have paid for is books, which is to be expected. Some people pay extra for additional resources to help them with writing, but that’s not required. As far as proctored test fees, I’m not sure, I haven’t had one yet.
so far I am happy I chose this school.
The do not help find them. However, once you find someone to agree to do it, they will coordinate all the contract and paperwork stuff. And yes, it all have to be outpatient/ family practice with a few hours in women’s health. It’s possible to do urgent care, but I think only 40-80 hours worth. I can’t remember the exact amount.

I finally decided to search for other program where they help in clinical placement.
