United States University (USU) FNP

Has anyone done this program? I'm looking into it and it seems great but there are hardly any updates reviews. Thanks!

I am currently in the program and I chose it since it is online and I can do my clinicals locally. The instructors I have been helpful. I like the program. I finish it in December of this year.

bryanleo9, tell the world what you know, not what you think.USU has flexible program and, their school fees reasonable. Also, they have mentors who will be monitoring student progress and, address any issue. Bottom line, their FNP program is one of the best. Thanks

I am currently in the program, middle of quarter 5. No complaints at all, it's a lot of work and hard classes but it's doable. I like that it is affordable to obtain NP. I recommend you the school for online classes

Thanks for your reply! gives more confident now!

Thanks!

Had a visit from a rep. for USU. The school is CCNE accredited. USU is definitely my top 3 FNP schools (also Chamberlain or West Coast). I prefer online classes and really against group work. Students will have 2-3 on campus visit for in year 2 for skills training, suturing, casting, working with simulations, etc... Requires 612 clinical hrs.

I'll be getting 10% off tuition due to USU partnership with my facility if I decide to go with this university.

Hello Mrskeene3 and anyone presently in FNP program. Please please reached out to me.Just turned my application today. Thanks

Hello, did anybody contact you? have you started the program? Please give us more information

Legit program..Better to have your clinicals set up early because they lack in that department. I didn't have any problems. Quick response from instructors. Once you're done with school, they are great and fast with assisting you with the application process for taking your boards and obtaining your license. Good Luck!

Hi. it sounds great! congratulation on graduation! Well done! It is so nice that we have you here. So many questions and little information about that program.

Can you please tell us what was your exams, assessments, home works like? Lots of research papers or test?

Self teaching with large assignments weekly. Lots of checklists that must be done. I mean it's an FNP school ,most are pretty similar. Depends what kind of quality of education you want. Nurses and NPs are a dime a dozen.

Thank you. I am not an FNP student yet. Exploring what assignments I will be doing. I am very good with test taking but writing is my weak part cause I came to the USA as an adult.

JUST make sure your word count or not age count are at or above minimum and you will be fine.

Each week begins on Tuesday I think (they changed it). However you have 7 days to complete. Each week you'll have a few assignments and synchrony sessions, depends on the class. The synchrony sessions are basically online with the class and professors. Most instructors go over assignments and have open question time. Specifically, pharmacology we had to do 2 ppt presentation on the assigned topic and present it during the synchrony class. Not all classes have quizzes or test but those that do vary. Some are timed and some are not. SN: Purchase a leik or Fitzgerald book now and use it for the studying and quizzes. We had to do the capstone, but they were thinking about taking it away. However, with that paper most classes will have you to do a part of the paper so by the end you only have a little left. Also we had to go on campus twice. The first time was to get checked off for clinicals. You will have a real person to teach you and allow you to do a pap smear, breast and rectal exam. You will also be taught to do a head to toe exam and will be required 1 by 1 to be checked off while speaking out loud. You will have a real person for that one as well. The second campus visit will be learning to suture and radiology reading. Go to you tube and watch all Jessica Nishikawa videos. There are a total of 6. Musculoskeletal, HEENT, Cardiac, Vascular, Resp and neuro. Learn it step by step because you will have to be checked off on 2, everybody have to do neuro and you have to talk and tell what you're doing. You will also have to do a home video for each, so have a family or friend ready to be your patient.
