Has anyone done this program? I'm looking into it and it seems great but there are hardly any updates reviews. Thanks!

If being an FNP is on your radar just do it. It’s manageable and staff wants you to succeed. Mostly writing assignments but figure out your clinical locations early as a lot less people than you would think are interested in preceptorship.

This is not the only thread about USU on here. Search for some others as different people might have different opinions or be able to provide more specific information.

Are there writing assignments during the fnp courses as well? Email me at [email protected] ....so youve graduated and taken the exam?

Yes the whole program surrounds writing and expect copious amounts in every course through the programs entirety.

I graduate next week and plan on taking the AANP exam in the next month or two. There is not a super rush as California does not require it for APRN licensure but I will take it at some point.

I passed both the pharm and physical assessment HESI (google APRN HESI for more info) and will be taking the final HESI next week.

Dont expect any MSN program to adequately prepare you for national boards as no school can fully prepare you for both ANCC and AANP certs as the questions differ.

I was going through the new student orientation today, It's over whelming. I am new to online courses and worried about assignments writing, APA format etc..any one on the same boat?

BTW, I am starting on July 2nd. Is any one with me?

I finish on 7/1 from USU so it’s possible ? don’t sweat it just follow the prompts and you will do fine.

Let me some up APA:

Double space, don’t talk in 1st person, utilize citation software imbedded in citation sources, and you will be fine.

You got this, it goes really really fast

congratulations on your graduation! Thanks for your lovely encouragement.

@Rosrak I am starting on 7/2!

Teamwork with your cohort mates is a must!

Be careful, dont take it lightly, the exit exam is actually difficult and they are changing the rules, you have to get an 85 or higher to pass

Technically you have to get a 69 and they round it to 84 which is needed to pass.

Plus they offer a remidiation exercise if you don’t pass it.

Do not be afraid to speak up with your instructor or dean if you feel the workload is unreasonable. My cohort did that a few times and they lightened the load.

Dont let fear of the silly HESI exit exam keep your from your MSN

Thanks for the encouragement @CANURSE999 ! I suddenly got anxious about it. I have never done online classes before so I don’t know what to expect! But I am excited about finally starting the FNP program.
