Hi! I just want to ask if somebody knows about United Staffing Registry Inc ? it is a nursing agency based from New York. I just want to know about your opinion and knowledge if you are familiar with this agency. I'm hoping for your answers.Thank You!

Specializes in OR/DR/RR, Surgical Unit.

I passed my resume to them, got interviewed and mailed the contract to me for an immigrant visa. However, i didn't pursue because I don't want to be tied to them because there is still retrogression and their petition will not guarantee any visa for me, not until 10 years I guess. :)

Specializes in intensive care, recovery, anesthetics.

Plus I believe you have to work for them for 3 years, what is longer then anything I heard of before. And you might end up in a nursing home, working condition there are not great I heard, not sure if you want to do this for 3 years...not sure what they offer otherwise, they don't even seem to pay the plane fare for you.

Thanks for your reply, isn't most agencies offers 3 years contract. By the way, can you tell more about what you know in this agency. Thank you.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

What you have to be aware of is retrogression and that it may take you longer than 5 years to get to the US and then things may change with the agency. Many have been waiting already since it started Oct 06 and many have a PD of 2005 with no idea how much longer they have to wait

But isn't its better to file now at least you will have given a priority date and your application is on the line of process. better than waiting a long time to lift the retrogression and that's the time to start filling? .how is it? Thanks

That depends because things do change and if the agency collapses (and may happen with current US climate) you could loose your place in the queue and start over again. We have had a few members that post they have had issues and lost job or job was cancelled before they get their visa. It is a risk to be aware of, that is all I am say

I don't know that agency specifically, but when I looked into agencies, the normal contract was aroung 2 years, not three, and they would pay the airfare for the applicant and the fees for taking NCLEX, fees for immigration, fees for visascreen and they had an education program before and after you are in the States.

Since the waiting time is so long, I would prefer an agency with a shorter contract, and more States to choose from who are working with hospitals only. They is still no garantee that it'll work, but the chances of a decent working place are better I think. I you want to go the agency route. Have you looked at the big US agencies?
