I am sorry to hear that you are giving up your spot, unless it means that you got an offer from another school. In that case, Congratulations! It is good news for people like me though who is an alternate and wanting to get into this school. Good luck to you!

I was trying to figure this out as well. I looked at the Union University CRNA class of 2022 facebook page and there are only 15 that have joined. This either means that there are 15 spots left or some of the students that were accepted have not joined the group yet. My theory is that there should be roughly 20 students accepted at this point, depending on the quality of the applicants and the decision of the selection committee.

So, the website says they interview approx. 60 and keep 30. There are 3 interview blocks right? So, does this mean that each block interviews approximately 20 applicants and keeps roughly 10 from each block. The last block is coming up and it seems like they will interview 20 applicants and potentially keep 10 students to make up the 30. Does this sound relatively accurate? This is just a theory. I have read one post of a student giving up their spot in the cohort so that mean at least one more person will have the opportunity to be apart of the 2022 class.

As far as alternates go, I can't imagine they would take alternates until after all of the applicants have had the opportunity to interview and the selection committee makes the final decision.

I was wondering if those that were chosen as alternates could respond so that we can figure out roughly how many alternates have been selected since they will not tell us when we call. I was chosen as an alternate and I am not losing hope for a chance to get into the program. I met up with a couple students when I went for my interview and they said that alternates have been selected for their class.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts!

I know for a fact, at least couples of people that I interviewed with did not join FB Group. I hope you will hear good news from the school soon. However, I don't think any programs will choose the alternates after they finish all the interviews. And also I don't think there is a set numbers of how many people they will pick each time of the interview.

I guess most of programs will pick at least one to a few of people on their waiting list. Just contact Dr. W or Ms. P, and do not lose hope ever ! Good luck, keep us posted.
