Union University CRNA 2024

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hi everyone! I didn't see a post for people applying to Union's CRNA program for 2024 start, so I figured I would start one. I figured whoever wanted to could share their experience, stats, interview dates, etc.

As for me, I have a little over 3 years experience, 1 year and 8 months in Med/Surg ICU, after that I transitioned to CTICU and have been here for 1 year and 7 months. I have my CCRN and CSC, science GPA is around 3.5, cumulative GPA is around 3.8. I also have been a preceptor and charge nurse in my unit.

Good luck to everyone!! I look forward to chatting with you all!

Anyone know how the interviews are like

From last years thread, it seems like its a mix of clinical and EI, some had mainly EI. It is also a panel interview.

Did everyone get an interview who applied for the priority deadline?

That's not how interviews tend to work...

I just felt so unwelcome and rushed at my interview and I don't know how to feel about it. I did so much research and so much preparation just for them to ask me 5 questions and they all seemed annoyed with me. This is so discouraging

Sounds different than what I've heard about them before. Were the questions EI questions or clinical?
I feel like often time these schools know who they want and just do extra interviews as fillers.
I'm sorry about your experience

It was a mix. But even from the first question it just seemed so negative. It made me so nervous. They definitely know who they want already. You can tell.

I'm sorry that you had this experience! I did not feel unwelcome at all. The students that I talked to and showed me around the facility were very nice. During the interview, they weren't super friendly but each school has their own interview strategy as far as how they act when asking questions. My interview seemed short. I think it lasted 10-15 min.

Yes. They started with EI and ended with clinical. My clinical questions were tailored to my current ICU experience.

Did it seem like they had clinical questions preplanned or let you say your typical pts and devices and asked based on that?

It seemed like they already wanted to ask me about post-op open heart patients since that's the patient population I frequently work with. I feel that my answer to each question influenced the next question they asked though.

I felt as if the students were very nice. My interview itself was very short maybe 15 minutes. I only had 2 clinical questions maybe.
