Union University CRNA 2024

Published

Hi everyone! I didn't see a post for people applying to Union's CRNA program for 2024 start, so I figured I would start one. I figured whoever wanted to could share their experience, stats, interview dates, etc.

As for me, I have a little over 3 years experience, 1 year and 8 months in Med/Surg ICU, after that I transitioned to CTICU and have been here for 1 year and 7 months. I have my CCRN and CSC, science GPA is around 3.5, cumulative GPA is around 3.8. I also have been a preceptor and charge nurse in my unit.

Good luck to everyone!! I look forward to chatting with you all!

Hi everyone! I've applied to this cycle. Anyone willing to answer some of my questions about the program 🙂

Hi LolaLynn, if you want to send me a private message, I will send you my email address and answer any questions I can.

Hey everyone! I recently applied to this cycle and was offered an interview but was denied after the interview process. Is anyone who has applied more than once and got accepted the second time willing to share their experiences with me? Thanks!

CONGRATS to everyone that got in!! I would love some words of encouragement after putting off applying anywhere for the past 5 yrs 😩 Last year I stopped traveling PACU, to go back to the ICU because my previous ICU exp is "too old". I am currently in a high level MSICU in a large city, I'm a preceptor, and do CRRT, we just don't do the cardiac devices, they go to our cardiac units. With that being said, did anyone get in that DOES NOT have cardiac/level 1 Trauma units experience and a lower end GPA? I am trying to stay optimistic that all my surgical/PACU experience and being an older student will help me during the interview process. I am just worried that I won't even get the chance to get there. Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated! 💜

You don't need to be at a level 1 trauma and don't need cardiac experience. As long as you are consistently taking very high acuity patients on a weekly basis and can speak to that in your interview. It's also possible to overcome a lower GPA, but I definitely recommend retaking any science classes you have less than a B in. Message me if you're able to if you have any other questions!

Lets get it, I got the call too, congratulations to us🙏🏾🙏🏾

Hey if you don't mind me asking what were your stats and how'd your interview go?

Stats meaning overall GPA, years in the ICU, Science GPA, and did you take Ochem? Just trying to get an Idea I have a very good science GPA of a 4.0 but curious about how many years in the ICU I should shoot for.

If anyone else would like to share there's feel free, that would help me and I'm sure others out a lot!

Thanks!
