I’m in class 2-3 days a week and classes last from either 2-4hrs

We’re you a priority applicant?

I have applied for the 2020 cohort. I submitted 3 days after the application opened. I am very anxious. I am hoping that I am granted an interview. Do you all know how many people are accepted from the priority deadline? Does applying early really even help your odds? Union is my number 1 school of choice.

oh wow, they require 40hrs shadowing now? it's getting more and more competitive. Last year there were 400ish applications, they interview 100, they picked 30, waiting list 10.

I didn't realize there were 400 applications last year. I guess in the 3 application periods it would make sense. I'm not sure how many interviewed in the priority deadline period with me.

I interviewed last year with Union so hopefully I'll get another this year and better prepare myself than I did last year.

Hello CowboyMedic,

How soon did interview notifications go out after you applied last year?

Also, what are you doing to prepare yourself for the interview? What do you feel did not go well last year?

I was notified on October 24th last year but the deadline was also October 15th last year.

As far as the interview, I went over standard behavioral questions such as why do you want to be a CRNA, conflict resolution, etc... One question you will get asked is how your faith influences your life since Union University is a Christian university associated with the Baptist Church.

Yes, BoltCRNA on YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram is a Union University graduate that just passed his boards about a month ago. I've been following him since his 1st year at Union. He does post of this board from time to time under @Bluebolt. Care to give us any advice brother?

I’m a first year at Union if you have any questions just let me know

Thanks for dropping by and joining the party. I remember you posting last year. Was that your first year applying? How many schools did you apply to? Number of interviews? Sorry, that was a lot of questions at once.

Final question, how has the transition been from full-time ICU RN to SRNA?

That was my first time Applying. I applied to two schools got interviews and offers at both. So far it has been excellent They do a great job of easing you into it

What made you choose Union over the other school?

One thing I do love about Union from an outsider perspective is the faith aspect. I love how one of the first classes in the Fall semester is Faith and Science.

I chose union because of the professors they actually want you to succeed
