UNG BSN Nursing Fall 2018

Published

Hi everyone!

My name is Megan and I applied to the BSN program at UNG for Fall 2018. According to the university site, we're supposed to begin our online Nursing class in the summer of '18 before the program.

Im hoping to meet other students who applied for the program! I'm hoping to get accepted and a scholarship as well, things look bright! I did well on my HESI and have a great GPA. Does anyone know when we should be hearing if we got accepted into the program? I know the deadline is Dec. 15.

Im also currently living in CA but plan on moving to GA soon. Because I'm an out-of-state transfer student, I didn't choose a specific campus. Wherever I end up is fine by me! :) I look forward to meeting you all and going through this journey together :)

I was rejected as well. 96 on the HESI and 3.82 GPA

I was denied as well. 3.5 GPA and 89 on the hesi

I was waitlisted GPA 3.4 HESI 88... wow some of you guys had great scores...maybe there was a bunch of qualified folks! Hopeful for Spring 2019..

Accepted to Gainesville campus. 3.8 GPA and 90 HESi

I got accepted to the Gainesville campus GPA 3.68 and Hesi 90!

Rejected! 3.5 GPA, 96 on HESI. Good luck to all!!

UPDATE:

Short version - I'M IN for Gainesville!!!!

Long version - The initial email I received stated my application could not be considered for one or more reasons, and listed the possible reasons. I emailed them asking what it was that made my application insufficient. They replied that the email was a mistake and they had in fact received everything. However, the email also stated I was not offered a seat because they use the Financial aid GPA for decisions. What!? Never heard of that. For the record I'm academic renewal, and I emailed back letting them know I was told my academic renewal GPA would be used. Lo and behold, I got a reply saying they re-examined my file and ACCEPTED ME!!

Good luck to those still waiting!

To those not accepted, DO NOT give up! Fight!!! Send an email asking how you can improve - be persistent and show you care!

To those accepted, see ya in the fall!!

So is it possible they made a mistake on more than one of us? Because I got the same wrong letter the first time too and and they sent another one saying that they set out the wrong email and they did have everything but that I was still denied... I'm worried that they have made a mistake

I guess it is possible. It certainly doesn't hurt to follow up with them and ask what went wrong. I can only imagine how many people just accept the decision and do not ask questions. Please follow up! Good luck!

I sent an email! I'll let you know

My denial just said that it was a strong pool of applicants and they couldn't offer me admission at this time. Interesting because I had extremely competitive stats. I disagree with the way that admissions is done and the fact that there is no essay option or even a section to state your purpose. I had over 100 shadowing/internship hours but they would never have known that since there was no way to tell them.

Email and ask if there is an appeals process!! Ask what GPA they used/calculated. If there's any discrepancy, fight it!

I've created a Facebook group for our cohort! If you would like to join, please PM me so I can add you.
