Hey guys this is meant for people who are applying for the Summer/Fall semester at UNF for 2017. I know it's a little early but I'm sure others are as eager as I am! Anyways who is applying next year? Doesn't matter if its the accelerated or the regular program.

Can anyone currently in the program give their honest opinion about how their experience has been so far? I am applying to UNF, UCF, and UF for this summer and want to make a proper decision, if I am admitted into more than one of them. For example, class structure, tutoring opportunities, clinicals, if professors actually care about you...
Thanks!
Hello ashep94! I was admitted into the program for fall 17, currently in my 2nd semester now! So far I can definitely say the program has been very preparing and challenging at the same time(you have to do work!! But it all pays off in the end:)) the professors are super caring! Maybe the most caring of all programs in FL from what I've heard. The class sizes are smaller as compared to these other schools you've listed. Cohort of 36 and clinical groups of 9, so each student receives the best attention they can get. At UNF the professors are more about helping you out if you're struggling with school work rather than trying to weed people out of the program so that's good! There's always private appointments and emails to help as well. In my cohort we had someone who turned down UF to come to UNF because of how awesome the faculty-student relationship are!. And we have the highest Nclex pass rate in FL I believe;) let me know if you have any more questions!
omg thank you for your reply!
I am actually leaning more towards UNF more than UF now that I am reading and speaking current students who go to UF. I graduated from UF with my Bachelor's, but I heard their nursing program is slowing deteriorating. May I ask what your stats were? I am retaking the TEAS. I got a 77% the first time I took it, but my goal is to get an 85%, at least. I spoke with Beth and she mentioned an 83% and above is competitive. I have a 3.60 overall GPA, 3.72 upper division GPA.
Thank you!
Absolutely. I had an 81.3% on the TEAS, 3.96 overall GPA and 3.87 prereq. and yes, you should take the TEAS again to try and score higher(I feel like it gets easier on the 2nd try). Beth was absolutely right on that but keep in mind that is the average(people have gotten in with slightly lower, it all adds up)An 85% with your stats would def give you a good chance for an interview spot(UNF doesn't factor in overall gpa by the way) 35% teas; 14% prereq gpa; 50% interview. Make sure you are well prepared for the interview! It carries a higher % it's where you really get to shine!. Goodluck!:)
Yes the interviews are in groups. The questions are generally situation-type questions. There is a "so you wanna be a nurse" workshop coming up this Jan and there'll also be an interview workshop when invitations go out(very informational). The interviewers are really just trying to see past you're stats or GPA. Be yourself, relax and breathe! You'll do great!
