UNF Summer 2014 BSN hopefuls

Published

Hi everyone!

With the deadline only a little over a month away, I figured we all need a place to stress, hope and worry! I just took my first stab at the TEAS and hit the average score of the past few years (335). I have a 3.9 GPA. One pre-req left. Applying for ABSN. I'm scheduled for a second TEAS attempt next month. How is everyone else doing? Drooling over stats as much as I am?? Any interview preparation plans?

Our group was about an hour late starting too so I wonder of they were just trying to speed things up at that point. Our panel was saying how hungry they were too haha so maybe they just needed a break and that's why it felt more rushed than you guys did. Who knows!

Our panel finally got a break right before we walked in at 11:30...ended up being like 12:15? Not sure because I turned my phone off. We had those exact same questions, I was surprised because there wasn't an ethical question but more relieved too. There was two regular track students in my interview group and 3 accelerated. But as they said before the interview, if you will have a degree before the start of the program you are eligible for both....past interview groups it was like 90-100 eligible for accelerated so I would imagine it is similar stats now

and excuse my grammar lol

I am getting increasingly nervous about the decision this week - somehow the idea that our names are all already on a list somewhere is driving me crazy, lol.

Before the interview I was really indifferent about the whole group-interview thing, but I actually really like how it turned out. I feel like it was more relaxing and let us all be ourselves a little bit more than an individual interview might have been. And Brianna you did a great job and definitely didn't seem like you were too short with your answers!

Everyone was so nice and I really hope we all get in!

I agree, guys! I hope we all get in!!

In the end, I was pretty relieved to be in that first group because I can't imagine being nervous as long as you guys had to have been!! I remember walking out of the interview room to a sea full of nervous faces in suits! I wondered if any of them might be one of you guys! :)

I'll need to move but haven't started looking either... didn't want to jinx it as brianna said haha! Hoping that *when* we get accepted there will be some way to connect with others looking for roomies and go through all that together :)

For my cohort they invited you to join a FB group once you accepted. So everyone got to know each other there. Up until the semester started there were current students Also members of the group to help answer questions.

Oh and whoever said the mywings department refer changing. That's how I knew I was in - it changed to admit.

Thank you for the always awesome advice! I have to admit, I saw somewhere that you were pursuing nursing as a means to get IBCLC and L&D. That is my goal as well!! Do you mind if I PM you some questions re: school & that goal?? It's nice to see someone in my same area interest!

Does anyone know the actual number of interviewees? I know 162 were invited but how many accepted?

27 accelerated, 45 regular track. There was about 150 after the invitation between no-shows and declines. I think 25 go on a wait-list as well and they get pretty far down the wait list as well.

Wow so about 50 get completely denied!:dead: I'm totally freaking out haha

Sure thing!

HellooNursh,

I'm going to take you up on your offer. ;) I looked at places while I was in Jax for the interview just in case I get accepted since I currently live in Connecticut. Anyway, my fiancé and I really liked three complexes.... 1) the Seagrass, 2) Coventry Park, and 3) Thorton Park. Are you familiar with any of these? Decent/safe places to live? They were certainly beautiful on the interior/exterior.

Thanks! -Sara
