Hi everyone!
With the deadline only a little over a month away, I figured we all need a place to stress, hope and worry! I just took my first stab at the TEAS and hit the average score of the past few years (335). I have a 3.9 GPA. One pre-req left. Applying for ABSN. I'm scheduled for a second TEAS attempt next month. How is everyone else doing? Drooling over stats as much as I am?? Any interview preparation plans?
I am still waiting to hear back from them all, FAU tells us on Friday, UCF will tell us the earliest on Friday, and UM has yet to process all my paperwork....It was sent in Feb and received in Feb but one thing is still not updated and I am not getting clear answers on that. So everything is a wait in progress. If I get UNF, I am accepting it initially. I wonder how they change my wings. Such as it is already in there and then they send it at once, or if tomorrow they start one by one putting in the change.
Hepx3- I agree about feeling short on my answers but I feel that I answered it sufficiently and also I am a super fast talker.
Yeah UNF is my first choice, I have been looking at this school for about two years now lol. I can't believe it is all over! I applied to other schools because I didn't want to take a year off since I graduate in May and I want to pursue a PhD in nursing. But after going to the interview if I got the two year program instead of one, I would highly consider it because I really got a good vibe here
Interesting how we all had a different interview experience but the same! Ours felt like a longer conversation. No one really had short answers, but they were very heartfelt. I think I'd be happy with either program. It sounds like the two year is much more relaxed, but those in accelerated seemed happy, too! The student in accelerated for our group was working 2 jobs and going through the program!!
Did you guys get the same questions we did? What qualities do you look for in a nursing school, what brought you to nursing, what is something about yourself that you can't put on a transcript but you'd want us to know, and what do you see as a biggest challenge should you be accepted into nursing school
Brianna I'm still waiting for UCF like you :) I also thought it was so short and nearly impossible to really say what you wanted to, it just felt so rushed. Helloonursh they worded ours slightly differently but yes basically the same questions. I hope I said enough. .. I just keep replaying it and freaking out. I don't feel like I did bad but I also didn't walk out feeling amazing about it so I really feel lost on what's going to happen. .. so glad this waiting game will all be over shortly.
Do we get emails or online notification?? I see you all saying we should know tomorrow but Beth told my group envelopes would be mailed out tomorrow so I thought it'd be a couple days???
Also did you guys have mostly regular or accelerated applicants in your groups?? My group at 1030 was literally ALL accelerated people... And it was funny because all the UNF students we talked to were regular path so we didn't get much insight into the accelerated path and what that was like for them.
We were all accelerated, too, lexi. We did have one accelerated student speaking to us and from what he had to say, it is full on hard core...but he still loves it. The regular student was a waitlisted accelerated applicant that ended up getting in the regular track and she just seemed so relaxed, really happy with her decision and thankful for regular. So I think it is a good thing either way!
And I totally understand what you mean when you say you don't know how to feel when you walk out of the room. I really liked the girls I interviewed with and the panel was very sweet. I didn't feel rushed at all, and I'm sorry you guys had that experience. We all pretty much gave full on answers, but I still feel as though there's more I wanted to get across about myself. I bet you it wasn't half as bad as you think it is right now!
And I'm saying tomorrow because the system should change in the "Student" tab based on the past cohort experiences. If you're denied, "departmental refer" should change to deny, accepted or...wait-list? I think.
I think on Monday, we'll start to either see Deny or continue to see departmental refer. But I really have no clue! I'm just going off what I've seen in the past cohorts!

I'm stalking past cohorts again. Looks like denials come through first. Uggggh
