Anyone else applying to UNF accelerated/traditional BSN for summer 2015? I'd love to talk to anyone about the application, TEAS, stats, interview, etc. I'm already getting pretty antsy about the whole application process!
Wait... I'm not saying you're wrong but wouldn't it make sense if we are only on the waitlist for the program we applied to? If someone gives up their spot for APL (which is what I applied for), let's say i was first on the waitlist, does that mean I take their spot in APL, or am I not even considered for APL at all and just RPL?
The way I understand it is, if someone that was accepted into APL drops their spot, they will look at the list of applicants who were accepted into RPL. If anyone that was given RPL had originally applied for APL, they will get bumped up to APL according to whoever is highest ranked. From there, whoever is #1 on the waitlist will take the open spot in RPL.

So pretty much if I applied for just APL, and I was next on the waitlist for APL and a spot opened I would get it. But if all the spots closed up and I didn't get offered one, I would then be moved to RPL waitlist?

Not exactly. Even though you applied for APL, you were still considered for RPL. For example, after interviews they ranked all 155 of us who interviewed. The top 36 on the list who were eligible for APL, got invited to APL. From there, the next 36 on the list (whether they applied for APL or RPL) were invited to RPL. So, even though people applied for APL, they were invited to join RPL. After those top 72 spots were given, they made the waitlist consisting of the next 30-35 people. After that, the rest were denied. So, if someone drops their APL spot, they will pull from the RPL group before they pull from the waitlist, because a lot of the people that were offered RPL spots originally applied for APL. They pull from RPL first because these people were originally ranked higher than those on the waitlist. If someone from RPL accepts the APL spot, they then will go to the waitlist and pull from the waitlist to fill the RPL spots.
So, even though you applied to APL, they consider you for both cohorts, as there is only one waitlist, not two separate ones for RPL and APL.

I was just about to type the same thing Brooke! This is what I believe the case to be as well.

Thank you so much for the help! That makes a lot more sense now :-)
Is anyone looking for roommates? I'm stressing a little figuring out where to live etc.
Hey, not looking for a roommate but I've lived all over Jacksonville for the past 6 years so I can kind of give you a run down on where you want to live. In my opinion, there's only 2 places I would live in jax, Riverside or the beach. I live in riverside, it's about 15 miles from campus but it's a really nice historic part of town, really close to downtown, all the best restaurants and bars are within walking distance, tons of art festivals, craft breweries. The beach, well that's pretty self explanatory. Great bars and restaurants there as well, a little more expensive to live, but you're a lot closer to campus, probably 3-5 miles. The southside, mandarin, and san marco areas are ok as an alternative. Areas to stay away from are Arlington, Westside, northside, anything close to beaver street, orange park. Good luck, let me know if you need any help!

Thanks for the recommendations! Are you by any chance in the Facebook group for our cohort?

From what I understand, when you apply to the program you are applying for both programs although your preferred option was APL. Where as most schools have two separate applications for RPL and APL. This is a question you should ask Ms. Dibble.
