UNF BSN FALL 2016 !

Published

Hello everyone! I just got done with all my pre-reqs and need to take my teas! Who else is applying for this term?????

I haven't. But I'll probably sky write it if I do, so if you are in town you may see it. hahaha

So I cannot be the only one wanting to know if anyone knows the most recent number on RSVP's? :)

We received word/email this morning that all those who were admitted to the program accepted their spots. As or right now both APL and RPL are full. I am sorry. :(

Thank you for the update :/

Would anyone be able to give any advice on housing/opinions on the program now that you are in? Im currently waiting for the Fall 2017 RPL track news which comes out Monday--- but im SO curious about how life is at UNF (counting my eggs before they are hatched much!? we will have to see what happens) :)

Hi, wow, old thread! Haha. There are a lot of housing options. Some people get an apartment near campus and room with other students from the cohort. Others come in from further away... Like me, I have a family and a house in the St. Nicholas area. There are even people in my cohort who live in St. Augustine or Fernandina. They have a long trek to some school activities though! You'll be going all over the city for clinicals and community home base activities. So it just depends on what your situation is and whether you want to live near the school or find something different.

As for opinions, it's been just a few days over a year since I got my APL acceptance letter and it's completely nuts how much I've learned and grown over that year. We'll be done in October, which is really right around the corner. UNF's program has been like a family. As a cohort we stick together, encourage each other and help each other succeed. The faculty seem intimidating at first but they're all great - each have their little quirks and it's been a trip getting to know them, lol. The work seemed daunting and there have certainly been a few weeks in there where I felt overwhelmed but overall it's been doable and a wonderful experience.

Good luck!

Hi there zuesabear! I'm in the same APL cohort as Karen and attending UNF for nursing school was absolutely the best decision I made. It's a wonderful program, and it's hard to believe that we've learned so much in such a short amount of time. As far as housing goes, I moved to Jacksonville to attend this program. I found roommates through the facebook group that was set up for admitted students, and live in an apartment about 10 minutes from campus. I highly recommend living with fellow nursing students if you are considering roommates, as they will have a similar lifestyle to your own (lots of studying and early morning clinicals :) ). If you would like recommendations for apartment complexes to look at in the area, please let me know and I would be happy to help. Good luck! :)

@karenld, thank you VERY VERY much for your reply, and your help :) I really appreciate the insight-- With some luck I will be joining you at UNF soon (they send out acceptance/denials at 8am tomorrow! May the odds ever be in my favor lol)...

Thank you for your perspective!

Good luck! I'm waiting too. I've been through the process before, got wait listed. I've been accepted to another program but UNF is my first choice. Start checking email early. Last time I think I had an email by 7am. Beth is really on top of things!

Dear Kmason25, Thank you VERY much for your reply! Hearing from you and Karen made me really nervous as I felt like I was falling in love with the program--- but I got lucky, they fell in love right back! I found out I just got in to the regular RPL track for Fall 2017! yay :D

If you did have anything to reccomend from housing/complex's to day to day life in Jacksonville I would LOVE to get some insight from you! If here or email ([email protected]), or even FB/cell is better just tell me! Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it :) Gotta move from Tampa and I've only been through Jacksonville once! lol

AlisonG33, You were right! she was early :D 8:04am in fact lol! did you receive the wait list this time or last time you applied?
