I have really enjoyed Excelsior. I completed my ADN in 2008, and now am registering for my final class for my BSN. I started exactly 2 years ago for the BSN, taking 6 credits each and every term. It is a very friendly program to do if you need to work full time and raise a family. The ADN was a collection of exams that you study for and then go to a local testing center to take. When all the classes/exams are completed you go to a testing center for a CPNE - a demo with patients. This is not as hard as it seems, and you will not be disappointed if you go for it!

Only California does not accept Excelsior grads. All other states do (some do require experience or additional clinicals prior to licensure).

Never heard of any employer not accepting an RN with a degree.

As for advice about Excelsior, be aware of what it is. You need to be self motivated to study. You need to know if you can study on your own or if you need a traditional classroom setting.

Also be aware that the CPNE is a difficult exam. It is the only "clinical" you have, so they are very strict with it.

Excelsior is not an easy or quick way to get your ASN, but it is one that can be done.

True, some have had issues with their state for initial licensure, but the only one that will outright not accept an Excelsior grad is California (unless you were enrolled before December 2003).

15 states have stipulations for Excelsior grads.

Did you attend EC? Because your posts are only anti-EC. I'm not a fan nor would I attend but the lawsuit seems pretty frivolous. I mean everything anyone signing up for EC can read it on the website, they're not hiding anything.
