In my nursing program we are limited to wearing Cherokee workwear brand scrubs. I have a little bit extra fluff around my middle both from having kids and some that is just fat for which I have nobody to blame but myself. Anyway, the scrub pants have drawstrings but I find they always want to slide down to below my bulgy belly, and when they do so does the crotch and I really don't want to have to worry about the sensation of losing my pants the whole time, or the crappy way it looks. I have tried to tie them tighter, but that is uncomfortable too. Does anyone have any tips? I can't change sizes because the size I have is the perfect length when they stay where they are supposed to. Thanks in advance!!

I really disliked the waist band of the Cherokee pants.
In all my days of clinical, no one every looked closely enough at my pants to tell what brand they were. So I suggest finding another brand that matches in color, but has a more comfortable fit for you. Buy one pair, wear them, and see if anyone notices. If not, buy more.
Other than that, I used to tied the waistband at my hips and then roll the waistband up a few times. This let me where my pants where they were comfortable, but keep the crotch and length at an appropriate height.

Unfortunately, I know they do uniform checks at my school and other students ahead of me say they are strict about the brand. I am kind of nervous about sticking myself out there as being non-compliant with school rules. I will have to try tying it and rolling it to see if that works, and I also will have to see if wearing an extra t-shirt under at all times will work as well, so maybe that will create some friction and keep them from sliding. Bottom line.. I just want to be comfortable!

When I had to wear those types we were told when tying them to just make the bows and not cross them over first hard to explain. But it worked. I'm
A bigger girl so I understand!
Also after working in my uniform it starts to become a little baggy. That's been any scrubs I wear!

If you can find another size that fits better in the waist/hips area, why not just have them hemmed? I'm short but the petites never fit right. I buy what fits my waist/hips/crotch and then pay $6 to have them hemmed.

That's the same kind we must have too. I think they're just poorly made! I have 2 different sizes and neither fit well & they both fall down despite the fact that one pair is kind of snug. I wear a long tank/Cami under mine and tuck it in. It helps some and provides extra coverage when they do slip a little too much.
I tried on a few different sizes. I have to wear a tall, but in a medium which technically fit my waist, they were tight over the buttocks and my hips. The large was a tiny tad loose in the waist, but fit through the hips and buttocks without being baggy. I'll figure something out eventually! Thanks for the tips everyone!!

I have that problem too. I just found the most comfortable pair of scrubs ever that actually are more slimming on me. They're made by nurse mates and have an elastic band.

I have been using clip suspenders for the last 3 years. I always wear a white shirt, clip suspender on top of it, then my (top) scrubs. No worries about losing my pants.

Cherokee makes a line called core stretch that have a larger elastic band at the top. They are very comfortable and cute...as far as scrubs go.

If they do scrub checks...you have to have that brand. Take the pants to the dry cleaner/tailor and have them sew some elastic in to it...going to be much more comfortable for you through the clinicals.
