UNC Chapel Hill Fall 2022 BSN

Published

Hey everyone, I wanted to start this thread for anyone applying to unc’s BSN program for the upcoming fall 2022 cohort. Applications are due in a week and I’m so nervous.

Good luck to you. If this round doesn't work out then I'm going to pursue the ABSN route. We'll get there one way or another.

Same to you. Hopefully they will release the decisions this afternoon.

Hey guys!

Where are you looking for admission decision updates?

I heard that they're only sending them by mail...is that what you guys saw?

Did someone in the office say that? They told me it would be sent to our email.

That's what I saw on their faq page.

Is there an application portal that shows updates?

Also, did you complete two Chemistry classes? Or just one introductory Chem class?

On NursingCas, it doesn't list Chem as a prerequisite, but it does in the BSN section on their website...so I was a little confused.

I don’t think so. Once you submit it you’re pretty much left in the dark until decisions come out. I had no idea about the decisions being sent through the mail, maybe that could explain the slight delay?

Also I did two chem classes. General Chem 1 and 2

OK, thanks! That's a bummer, I'm so tired of waiting haha

No problem. I’m sick of waiting too I'm really hoping we hear back by next week.. Also what are your stats if you don’t mind me asking? And did you do anything extra like volunteering or healthcare experience?

I have a 3.9 overall GPA, and a 4.0 prerequisite GPA (3.8 if I include Chemistry, not sure if they require it though?).

I worked as a CNA for six months and got a 90.7 on the TEAS.

I feel like I won't get in, though, since I didn't take Biochem or 2 Chem classes--I only took "Intro to Chemistry" and this is what they have on their prerequisites page:

Chemistry 101/101L and Chemistry 102/102L: General Descriptive Chemistry — or — Biochemistry 107 and Biochemistry 108: Introduction to Biochemistry

Did you do the transcript evaluation?

No, I probably should have!

I was going off the prereqs they have listed on NursingCas, which are only Anatomy, Physio, Micro, Psych, and Statistics.

Don’t count yourself out yet. Your courses might have transferred in fine and that one chem course could have satisfied both requirements. I feel like they would have emailed you if you were missing something.
