I am waiting to hear back for Spring 2010 admission to UNC-Chapel Hill and got an email that there is a new earlier deadline for the May 2010 entry- December 22, 2009. So depressing to already get re-applying info when you haven't heard back yet. Why, oh why is this school not easier to get into?
The email said Spring 2010 applicants would hear toward mid-November. This sounds like an unbelievably short amount of time to accept their offer and line up financial aid. I have been accepted at Duke and have to line up loans for that if Carolina doesn't offer me admission. I hope one month is enough time.
Well I've pretty much resolved that I won't be getting an acceptance letter. I think I would have gotten one already because I don't live that far from Chapel Hill. Of course there will be a little tinge of hope until I get the big N-O in writing but for the most part I know it's a wrap!
I'm feeling the same way...seems like everyone is getting is getting YESs and no NOs yet...??? I'm trying not to stress!!! Got a bit excited at Gateway today!!! :) I still would love an oppourtunity at UNC...I applied with a 4.0 gpa...guess that doesn't gurantee anything anymore!!
Congrats to all the future Tarheels... !!!
I don't think it has been too much time yet! Mine was mailed on Tues of last week and I didn't get it until Saturday.
And where do you live? You may have mentioned it earlier but I am looking at this on my phone and didn't feel like going back through all the posts.
Let's hope tomorrow is the day for the rest of us.
NYCGyrl..... we should meet tomorrow, I am sure we've met or passed each other, are you on Windows Messenger .??.I'm sure I'll have a Starbucks in hand!!! I am not excited about getting up so early...but we should get used to it! I called the office and they said by Nov 20th we should have letters!! aggh! Does anyone know how many applicants there were???
The 20th. That's cutting it close since that's the day we all must respond with our acceptance of their offer. The important thing to note is that, no matter what, if you don't hear anything right away or, worse, get a non-acceptance letter, still be prepared to respond to an extension of offer. Undoubtedly, there will be applicants that turn down the offer for other reasons (like accepting an offer at another college). Stay positive. :)I called the office and they said by Nov 20th we should have letters!! aggh! Does anyone know how many applicants there were???
[color=silver]i think we should start a fb group, but i wanted to include both bsns and absns since we have classes together and i wasn't sure what to name the group since we would graduate at slightly different times. ideas?
you might need to be logged in to see them. facebook groups and group for class of 2011 (jan. 2010 entrance) students.[color=silver]a fb group sounds like a great idea. i want to meet people before classes start! maybe we could name the group something that has to do with our start date, since that will be the same for all of us?
good luck everyone! i wish you the best of news over the weekend.
