Am I in the wrong place?? I would think that there would be a lot of chatter with the deadline being tomorrow!
I am sure there are oodles applying. Now...where is everyone?!
Is anyone else confused by the directions about the flu shots that we have been e-mailed. First it says that you have to have proof turned in July 30, 2012 and then she said the new flu shot doesn't come out until August-September. Does that mean we should get last years and then get the new one one it comes out or just wait? She was not very good at clarifying that point. Also, dccubano, I signed up for the July 17 date for Baltimore. Thanks everyone!
I think both campuses are pretty competitive. I'm guessing you may have a better shot applying to Baltimore because they accept more people. I really have no idea how many applicants each campus gets.
The University of Maryland School of Nursing is a highly competitive school regardless of campus. 45 - 50 students are accepted fall and spring to the Shady Grove campus and 80 - 90 to Baltimore for the BSN program. So, in terms of the number of seats available you could say that SG is more competitive but that doesn't really tell you anything. What would is how qualified the applicant pool for each campus is and nobody can predict that. Every semester is a whole new ball game. Add to that the fact that anyone with a bachelor's degree in another subject must decide whether to apply for BSN or CNL and the waters get even muddier. Needless to say, all admitted students are highly qualified.

Just get the new flu shot as soon as it becomes available in early fall. Virtually every clinical site requires it and you will be doing a small number of clinicals your first semester. The new flu shot will be good through spring 2013 clinicals.

There's a lot of suggested reading to do over the summer...yuck. I don't plan on getting to crazy with the note taking. Has anyone signed up for UMB orientation dates yet?
