  1. SB113, I also had a 3.7 something and a 3.8 science gpa. Your gpa should have been good enough but there may be something that held you back...if you re-took classes or did not score in "advanced" on the TEAS that may have hurt your application. They also favor towson students for non-2nd bachelors students. But like you said, I'm declining my acceptance and so will others so dont lose hope! a 3.7 gpa is really an achievement you should be proud of, its just that SO MANY people apply to BSN programs now.
  2. SB113, I love Towson, I would never leave and it's the only nursing school I applied to. However, after months of consideration, I've decided nursing isn't the career for me. So I'm staying at Towson, changing my major, and giving my spot in the nursing program to someone who wants it way more than I do.
  3. I have been accepted!! Too bad I'm declining the offer. Good luck to everyone else!
  4. I'm not too sure the nursing market is doing so hot either....
  5. I'm a nursing major and my bf is currently in a rad tech program. He started college as a nursing major but soon decided his GPA was not going to be competitive and that he wasn't sure nursing was for him. He decided to change to rad-tech and was accepted into the program after passing all the pre-reqs. He didn't work in radiology before being admitted into the program however he did work at the community college for 2 years while doing pre-reqs. From what I have seen rad tech is still a stable job but is FAR less competitive than nursing has become.
  6. I've never retaken a class so I'm not sure about the policy on classes that are re-taken. You could call and ask. Yeah, the program is super competitive so sadly they really only consider GPA's and scores that are the highest.
  7. thenameismac- Yes, Towson only allows 2 TEAS test scores per application. And as for GPA I know Towson does not look at trends just overall GPA, science GPA, and TEAS scores.
  8. Biology Microbiology Chem Chem 2 A & P A & P 2 Pre-calculus College Algebra Statistics Human Development Psychology Sociology English Pathophysiology Nutrition
  9. Chemistry was hands down the hardest pre- req for me so far and I take chem 2 this semester When I took chem I got a D on the first test because I was studying for it all wrong. So I got a tutor for the class (so helpful) and began to focus on the formulas that were giving me problems by re-doing the examples and class problems over and over and over and over until I got it. Also, reading the chapter before class was helpful. Just try your best and you can do it! Goodluck!
  10. Many nurses that work as ADNs now have earned their degree prior to the horrific economy we are currently facing. They have experience so they will still find jobs and location matters too. But generally new nurses today will have MUCH better odds finding work with a BSN due to competition and saturation in the Nursing field.
  11. I'm in MD too! But also, it took me 2.5 because I was originally a Bio major.
  12. My BSN program accepts 72 students and around 400 apply. Nursing is too competitive.
  13. My Last semester of pre-reqs: Chemistry 2 Speech Calculus Diversity in Healthcare ( first NURS class!) Goodluck to all!
  14. CHEMISTRY 1 and 2 were both extremely difficult for me. Anatomy was also challenging. Micro and Bio were easy!
  15. I took A&P1 with Sociology, english 2, and chemistry. It was very difficult for me because I had not taken many science classes yet. It seems like you have taken multiple science classes already so you should be fine!
