Am I in the wrong place?? I would think that there would be a lot of chatter with the deadline being tomorrow!

I am sure there are oodles applying. Now...where is everyone?!

I don't think you will get a packet in the mail. The packet is now posted on the School of Nursing website under the Accepted Students tab. Be sure to follow the directions for your own campus as there are some slight variations on how to do things.

Do you know if it matters what color stethoscope we get as long as it's a Classic II SE? Also, I know the scrubs have to be white tops and khaki bottoms, but does it matter what kind?

The color of the stethescope is up to you but don't go buy the cheaper one - you will be very sorry as the sound quality you need just is not there. As long as your scrub tops are white and the pant is khaki any style is fine.

For Shady Grove students - you should soon be hearing that you will be able to buy your stethescopes and uniforms at Orientation. It is a fundraiser for our nursing student organization. The prices are great and the commission we get will be used to send students to the national convention, among other things.

Do any of you folks in the program have any thoughts on purchasing recommended books? In the past I have purchased these books and have not needed them to excel in my coursework. Are there any that are particularly helpful?

I would recommend waiting until the first day of class then asking your professors what they think. Or ask current students which ones they found helpful. Everyone comes to the program with a different background.

Hmmmm.....nobody ever asked that before so I don't know. Contact Student Health to find out for sure.

Hi, regarding the Fall 2012 BSN program on the Baltimore campus, does anyone have any idea about how many days orientation lasts or when it might be? I see that the site doesn't have them up just yet, but I was hoping to get a sense of how they have historically been scheduled. Also, does anyone know when they will be posted?

Based on what I saw for the Spring semester, orientation took two days. I am running with the assumption it will be the same for Fall.
