Hi everyone! I created the BSN Fall 2013 topic, but I couldn't apply at that time due to family issues. So now I'm applying for Spring 2014! Anyone else applying? :]
So I have a coupon to get $40 off on any kindle tablet or e-reader. Debating if I should get an e-reader, since I have been having headaches from looking at a computer screen and as a scribe I work by looking at a computer screen for basically 8 hour straight. Any suggestions if this is a good buy? Also, anyone have any advice about renting the textbooks? I feel like as a nursing student we should have all the books on hand all the time? And whoever wrote about the Barnes and Noble Nook Study: THANK YOU!! The site looks awesome and can't wait to use it. Kind of wish I had a coupon for a nook instead

"What devices can I read an eTextbook on?
eTextbooks purchased from Barnes & Noble are meant to be read on your computer via our NOOK Study application. You cannot use your NOOK or mobile device to read textbooks as the screens are too small to properly view the contents."

nookstudy seems to be meant for use via an actual computer (PC or mac) only. so, it would't matter if you own an actual nook ereader, despite the program being called NOOKstudy.
The topic of using an electronic tablet came up a week or two ago. I decided not to buy anything, and just stick with my desktop computer. Personally, I like using a pen and note pad because I found that act of writing helps commit information to memory. I tried out the Nook when I was in town, and I felt like the highlighting and shuffling around was not as user friendly as my old fashioned methods. Also, I did not find that tablets would save money - even in the long run. Just my .002! Best of luck to everyone!
