UMDNJ Fall 2012 Stratford ABSN-new student

Hi Everyone! I received my letter on Tuesday the 29th about my acceptance to the UMNDNJ Accelerated Nursing Program in Stratford! Has anyone else here have? If so It would be nice to meet/chat to people before hand, I'm from the shore so I don't know anyone from that area. I heard a lot about this program so I am both excited and scared! Plus finding an apartment I know is going to be a headache! Also if anyone knows of a good area around Stratford to find a place? Right now I am thinking of collingswood but that still might be too far. Also is anyone going to do the pre-nursing course they are offering? If anyone has been to UMDNJ for Accelerated nursing already, do you think it's extremely helpful, like can't miss it helpful? I work in a private practice now and I have learned a lot of terms etc so far and thats not just lip service its a family business so its not just a j-o-b to me its my family's bread and butter, so I am kind of leaning towards using those days to make much extra needed money and tying up loose ends at work! Hi there,

I have also been accepted to the program at Stratford. I've been to the area a few weeks ago to get a feel for it, and looked at some apartments. I'm hoping to have an apartment rather soon. I feel so unorganized with things.

What do you have your current undergrad in?

Congrats on getting accepted! I just got my acceptance letter! YAY! :D. Im just really stressed about the whole finding an apartment and roommates part. Do you guys know of a site that lets you connect to Stratford campus students who are looking for roommates?

No, from what I was told there is nothing like that.. unfortunately :(

The cheapest I've been able to find (in a decent area and well kept) is about $750 for a studio + ~100 utilities.

I have no idea, but I'm actually looking for a roommate myself... Congrats btw. Let me know if ur interested I can send u my email. I'm trying to save as much money as I can. Just a little background I'm 27 yr old female, from south jersey I'm outgoing but I know this program is tough so I expect all the fun to be reserved for summer :( hmmm what else ....I get up early ...there's much more but I'll just wait on ur response..I have reservations about meeting people online but we're both going to the same school so that takes away the element of uneasiness ;) hope to hear from u

Are you talking about the two week thing before classes start? I'm thinking I probably will.. only to meet everyone else in the program! How bout you?

Hey guys, btw.. from the places I checked out - I liked The Village - 10 lucas lane, voorhees nj, 08043. I know there are cheaper places out there but that one was pretty nice. Seemed quiet. The quote I was given a few weeks ago -

studio - $736

1 br - $871

I didn't get one for a 2 br because I don't know anyone about a roommate situation either. The lady that showed me the apartments said tons and UMDNJ students rent there.

I was also told to kind of avoid anywhere in Lindenwold.
