Hello! I am in the process of applying for the spring 2012 semester at the Baltimore campus!! I didn't see any threads out there yet for people who are applying so I figured I'd start one :) Feel free to share gpa, TEAS scores, etc and any updates on admission!! GOOD luck to everyone!

I took classes out of state but my Generl Chem 1 was accepted...it wasnt an intro class.

Hi everyone,

I'm applying to the fall 2012 admissions, just have a few questions if anyone knows?

1) What's the acceptance ratio?

2) Do we need a cover letter?

3) Can we email everything?

4) What's the average gpa for students who get accepted?

5) Is there a good online study guide for the TEAS?

Thanks!and good luck to everyone who applied for spring!

jojo89- Have you gone to an information session/open house yet? They can answer all of the questions that you have. From what I remember from the session that I went to, the acceptance is about 20-25%- I think they said they usually have well over 400 applicants each semester. I didn't use a cover letter, as MOST of the application materials are set up so that you can do it all on their website. The things that I did send in the mail, I was just sure to have my name all over them. I have no idea about the gpa for admittance, but I do know that they look at the whole application, and not just your grades.

For the TEAS, I bought the study guide from ATI. You might want to browse through the threads on here about the TEAS V for suggestions about online study materials. I found some great tips and hints there from people who had taken the test.

Good luck with your application!

@Jojo89- I studied from a few bok from the public library (Petersons, Kaplan, etc) for the TEAS V and I'd been out of school for a while and I got a score in the 99th percentile. The exam is not that bad once you've done as many practice tests as you can get your hands on. Some questions, like the scientific reasoning and the comprehension, you just can't study for. But the other sections are OK.

Yeah....here comes November. I can't wait till Nov 15.

I have a ? do they send letters base on when one applied. I mean you would be notified early if you applied early and is versa.

I wouldn't think so touba...I would imagine that they send letters to the accepted students first and the waitlisted students also. Then they would wait for the accepted students to accept or decline the seat in the class and then let the waitlisted students know accordingly. As for rejections...I suppose those would go out when they go out......

Thank you:up:

@tippeny and umsonspring2012

Thanks! I have not gone to an info session bc I am out-of-state and just recently decided to apply to UMB.

Good Luck!

i called today just for the fun of it.

me: so has the letters started going out for the spring semesters

lady: na, by the middle of the month

me: i guess not anytime soon then *fake laugh*

lady: they should start going out in the next week or two.

abrupt answers..but it looks like mid nov is what we are looking at. last year it was around the same time.

btw i applied for the MSN program (nursing informatics).

Argh! It seems like the date just keeps getting pushed back more and more. I'm going crazy here trying to not worry about it. UMBC is the only school I applied to (the others required all my prerequisites be completed or didn't have a Spring start) and if I don't get in I really need to get my plan B rolling. Sigh. Sorry, just had to vent. :)

Venting is okay! I have been thinking about it non-stop for weeks. I applied to CCBC and UMB and I'd much rather go to UMB because I want a Bachelor's degree. Waiting is no fun but I am so excited to finally hear back!
