UMB Accepted BSN students Fall 2010 Shady Grove campus

Published

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! and congratulations for being accepted to the University of Maryland School of Nursing! :yeah:This thread is intended for the newly admitted class for Fall 2010 who will be attending the Shady Grove campus in Rockville, Maryland. Much of what we talk about will also apply to students attending in Baltimore.I invite you to post your questions here, as opposed to emailing me at Shady Grove, to help keep my email inbox more manageable. But please do not let that keep you from emailing if you feel more comfortable with that. Also, that way, your questions, which are likely to be the same as your classmates, can all be answered at once. You all should have just been emailed class registration instructions for fall classes. While we need you to register soon, you do not have to feel compelled to do it at the crack of dawn on Monday, April 19. There is only one section of each of your required classes, they do not conflict, and there are plenty of seats for your entire class. That having been said, you will make my life easier if you register in the next two weeks as it is my job to keep after all our students until they have registered. Note that registration will generate a bill, but the due date is not until August 23.

We cannot wait to meet you all!

hiiii,

i have a quick question when sign up for classes, do we add 304 communication module on the worksheet?

thanksss

Awesome! We are about to launch a brand new Universities at Shady Grove website, tomorrow as a matter of fact. For the first time we will have a content management system and I bet we can use your expertise to design wonderful pages.

You should only be registering for your first semester classes as listed: 304, 315, 320 and 333. The Communications Module is an additional four week part of 304 and I do not think you have to actually register for it as anyone who registers for the main lecture part of 304 is automatically enrolled. But I will find out. There should be no conflict if you choose all SG sections. If there is, it means that the system has the wrong day and or time in it somewhere and I need to fix that - so please let me know.

Hey all! Can't wait for that facebook group :) See you all in August (or maybe July during the open house)!

Hi again,

I just wanted to know, how will we know when the registration hold has been lifted from our account so that we can continue with the registration process. And I emailed my registration form on friday how do I know if you have recieved and processed it yet?

I have been trying to email each student as I remove the hold. If you are able to register online, the hold has been lifted and I just did not let you know - I am frequently interrupted!

So have all the acceptance letters been sent out? I have a friend that is waiting on his yea or neigh for UMB.

Tell him to check his status - if it is not yet Rejected Application, his application is still alive.

I had a question about the Easy Refund Higher One card - I looked up the closest locations for the ATMs that you can use the card at for withdrawals and the closest one is at the Baltimore campus - it doesn't look like there's one at Shady Grove is there? If I don't activate the Higher One card, will any scholarship/grant refund be refunded back to me via check or direct deposit? I don't want to activate the card if I'm going to get charged ATM fees because there aren't any ATMs close by that accept it...

has anyone received their information packet, yet?

No, I was wondering the same thing.

I would call the Onecard Office and ask your refund question. The number is 410 706-6943. Unless you live in the Baltimore area, it is not likely that you would use it in an ATM machine. Shady Grove students use the ID for test-taking, to access the HSHL library remotely from SG campus and for entry into the School of Nursing building on main campus - and that is about it.
