Hi all
I am only in my first year of Nursing, but I would like to come and live in Sydney again!!
I have immigrated back and forth between Scotland and Sydney throughout my life, (not by choice, my parents). I was born In Scotland.
I am hoping to do my final year in Sydney so I could graduate with an Australian qualification. I hope that this would make it easier for me to stay.
I was wondering if anyone else has done this or has any advice regarding my options.
My mother(Maltese) and fiance(Scottish) would like to come back too. My mother spent a total of 30 years there from when she was 2. All her family live there, and we miss them and our home terribly.
Do you think it would be easy enough to transfer into another University? I thought it might be better this way as I wouldn't be going into the Australian work force completely in the dark. A year training in Sydney would be great. Any advice?
Thanks

I can't think of any specific advice, except that you contact the nursing departments of the various Sydney universities. Good luck - keep us posted!

Just a little suggestion to think of - most Unis have a consistent policy on maximum credit transfer possible when tranferring in - usually it amounts to a maximum of 30% of the total credits for the course you want to undertake. Saying that means that if you wanted a degree from an Australian University then I would imaging that for a 3 year nursing degree the Uni would want you do do at least 2 years of the course with them. Perhaps you should look at either coming out here earlier (if possible) or completing nursing then coming here, or perhaps doing some study in Australia for credit towards your current degree. If you want to check uni sites for conformation on credit transfer I am pretty sure it is an accross the board transfer limit rule.
Cheers and Goodluck
