Not sure if I would still be or want to be working at this age
An 83-year-old nurse who still works 15 to 20 hours a week says she has "no plans" to retire.
Monica Bulman, who works at Torbay Hospital, began her career in the NHS aged 19 in 1952.
When she's not working, the grandmother, who turned 83 on 1 September, is a gym-bunny and attends regular spinning classes.
Mrs Bulman said she still loves her job but misses the 1950s uniform because it was "much more glamorous".

Absolutely appalling. She should have retired years ago. I don't trust my 83 year old parents with the TV remote control never mind patients (my mother is a retired nurse).
She is stopping a younger person getting a job.
If you look at the photograph at the bottom of the article you can see she is wearing a dress - how safe is that in a modern moving and handling environment? And of course the belt and pens in her pocket. Nonsense from last century.
I have to ask, if she is fit and healthy enough after 64 years as a nurse how much work did/does she actually do? I am sore after 35 years and I know plenty of retired nurses who ache now.
Should also add after some thought; remember what my name is.

You posted everything I thought. Except for the dress bit. Nothing wrong with dresses.
we have a couple of 70 year old working casual. But, it's always 'give so and so the easy/light patients'. No wrestling abusive drunks and druggies for them
Dresses were banned in our trust as they are too restricting when moving and handling.
I understand about the wrestling - a couple of weeks ago I was holding down a 22 year old who had taken "something". Suddenly realised; I am more than 40 years older than this scrote. I hurt for 2 days after that one. That was when I finally made up my mind to retire.
