HI ,I CURRENTLY LIVE IN EDINBURGH BUT I ALSO AM A US CITIZEN AS MY DADS AMERICAN, BUT I HAVE NEVER LIVED THERE AS I WAS BROUGHT UP IN THE UK.
I HAVE BEEN WORKING AS A CARER WITH ADULTS WITH MENTAL HEALTH AND DISABILITY FOR 8 YEARS.I AM REALLY INTERESTED IN STUDYING MENTAL HEALTH NURSING OR JUST MAIN STREAM NURSING.
I AM 28 AND ITS TIME I GOT A QUALIFICATION.I WANT TO MOVE TO THE US(ANY STATE).I WOULD IDEALLY LIKE TO STUDY AND WORK AS I KNOW ITS NOT CHEAP TO LIVE OVER THERE.I DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO PAY FOR STUDYING,WHERE WOULD I START?
ANY INFORMATION OR WEB SITE DETAILS WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL.IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE THAT WOULD BE GREAT TOO.:)

Hi and welcome to the site
I think you may find it cheaper to do your nurse training in the UK. From what I have seen you will have to pay in the US and you may find you have to pay International fees seeing as you haven't lived in the US. A lot of colleges also require pre requisites so a lot will vary to where you plan on doing your training in the US as it will vary.
Suggested reading would be

Quick plug for my geographic area. I live in the middle of nowhere, Texas. If you are looking for a quick (3 year), low cost, high quality RN program - I recommend Vernon College in Vernon Texas.. Vernon College
The cost of living is ridiculously low and you can work at the NTSH as a psych aid while you're in school. As a non resident citizen, you may have to pay out of state tuition the first year - or live and work here for a year, then go. A Wilbarger county resident can finish a nursing degree for less than 7K there.
silverdragon, thank you for your information.i do appologize for the capital letters.

UND-Grand Forks has a very reasonable tuition rate for undergraduate classes. Also Valley City ND has a low cost school.

I don’t know for sure, but I would think you would fall under the “American’s Abroad” clause for Federal Student Aid since you have American citizenship, but like I said I don’t know. There are several different programs in the area where I live, both ADN & BSN. It’s pretty cheap to live here and the weather tends to be nice also. If you want, PM me and I can send you some more information on where I live and the options that are here in this area.
Cheers.
Thank Aberdeen. I would love sum info. Cheers. I'm not sure how to pm you. I cannot seem to get it. Unless this is it.:). Are u from a:up::):) Aberdeen ?
