UK degree count?

Hi, I've done many searches but can't get any definite answers as to whether or not my UK qualifications count in New York. I've found jobs advertised and where you register to practice but not the important bit - will my BSc (Bachelor of science) degree in Learning Disabilities Nursing from University of Nottingham be recognised and enable me to register in NY? I have five years post-reg experience in a specialist team in the UK. I am aware that there are other exams I will need to take if it is recognised. Does anyone out there know?! :)

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Moved to the International Nursing forum as many US nurses do not know requirements for IEN.

Your transcripts need to show both clinical and theory hours in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetrics and Adult. Nurse training in the US is general trained opposed to UK which is specialist trained. Currently there is no where in the UK to make up hours and many US schools we have seen have not accepted many IEN to make up the hours required
