UIW/UTHSCSA Spring 2020

Hi there! I haven’t seen a thread for this upcoming Spring 2020 (that includes UIW) so I decided to create one!

has anyone heard anything??

aside from receiving an email to be fingerprinted from UIW, I haven’t heard anything else.

has anybody heard any other news????

No, but I know that they don’t interview all of the applicants or those that are being considered. I did my fingerprints in late August and haven’t heard anything since. Other than getting the blue card saying my background check was clear.

I just called as well. they said interviews are today and tomorrow and then the chair will have a list ready by thursday. we will get both an email and letter (per Eunice). she also said Monday at the latest for notification

The long weekend was torture to me. I wish they would come on already.

Do you think that they only interview transfer students? I did ask about the kind of students they accept and they said the ratio of those accepted are half transfers and half UIW pre-nursing students.

That could be, I don’t know. UIW hasn’t always done interviews and I am wondering what and whom triggers who decides about interviews. They have 60 seats per semester and usually average about 100 applicants.

Well from prior posts for other semesters, I saw that some were called to interview. I was called last week and did mine today, so hopefully, it went well. I was super nervous.

so I spoke to Eunice again, and it turns out I need an interview. she said all transfers get interviewed (I was accidentally marked off as a current UIW student ? good thing I called to inquire about acceptance letters). so not all UIW students get interviews, but all transfers do.

That is good news then! Did you schedule it already? Will it be over the phone or like a skype interview since you are out of town? I hope it goes well! Good luck ?

yes! I was a little worried that they weren’t interested in interviewing an out of state transfer lol ?. it’s over the phone tomorrow and it’s at 9:15am so I have to wake up early (I’m 2 hrs behind). it’s not skype so I can be in my pjs while petting my cat and drinking my starbucks hahaha but thank you!!! ???
