Hi folks,
Thinking about applying to UIC's GEP program. Anybody here applied and was accepted? What were your stats?
My stats: 3.2 Overall GPA/3.5 Sci BA in Sociology. Office Manager in home health care, tech in a medical equipment co, medical assistant (no cert) in dr's office and later office manager there. Volunteering in Nursing Home around 120 hours...
From what I can tell on their website, after completing the NCLEX, you immediately start the master portion of the program. Is this correct?
Thanks for your input, swim. I am aware of all the things you mentioned in your post (maybe not the staff part but who doesn't have difficult staff at times). I am sorry to hear that your experience there isn't exactly as you thought it would go. I wish you the best for your future endeavors !
Oh and I got a call back from UIC (re: transcripts) ....Unfortunately I was in the shower and they didn't even leave a message.
Will try again tomorrow :)
Okay I called and they said either way is fine! He said technically if you open your university transcripts from the envelope and scan them they are unofficial. So if you upload unofficial ones in the first place it's completely fine because after acceptance they would require official ones anyways. Yay!
I think I didn't make myself clear enough. When I submitted my unofficial transcripts, they were unofficial because I took them from my school's website. They didn't have the transcript legend or the school's seal, etc. So I had to buy official transcripts and then scan them. So they were official and are now unofficial since I opened them.
How long as it taken everyone to get the supplemental link after submitting the first application? I've been delaying applying, hoping to hear from Vanderbilt first, and now I'm concerned since the site says it can take 10 business days to get the supp link and there's not even 10 left before the deadline!

I submitted my app on a Thursday and got the supplemental on the Tuesday five days later.

I know you all are probably deep into the application process, but I wanted to make sure that some prospective students see this. I really think that people should think twice before entering UIC's GEP program. As a current student, I feel that I can really speak to that . I posted a thread that I hope you all take a look at while you are applying to nursing programs.
