UIC Graduate Entry Program

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi folks,

Thinking about applying to UIC's GEP program. Anybody here applied and was accepted? What were your stats?

My stats: 3.2 Overall GPA/3.5 Sci BA in Sociology. Office Manager in home health care, tech in a medical equipment co, medical assistant (no cert) in dr's office and later office manager there. Volunteering in Nursing Home around 120 hours...

From what I can tell on their website, after completing the NCLEX, you immediately start the master portion of the program. Is this correct?

I want us all to get into UIC!!!! We can all live together!! Ahhh

Sorry I am just really happy and positive today!

There's nothing wrong with that! :)

And thanks for calling!!!

I'm already anxious and the application deadline hasn't even passed. I just uploaded my transcripts. waiting on one LOR... sigh. :nailbiting:

Sending in my supp in 2 days. :)

random question – did anyone give any thought to applying to Loyola U in Chicago?

Thought about it, went to the website, got a bit excited at the August start date, then realized they wanted a minimum of a B in all science pre-reqs.

I got a C+ in organic chem and would prefer not to retake it just for one school.

shame :(

I did look into Loyola. I am still thinking about it. I highly doubt I will apply there though... Lets see. And I just sent in my app finally for UIC!

Ahhh! Sending all the positivity and good luck to everyone!

I would rather get a Master's degree instead of another Bachelor's so I never considered Loyola that much.

That's exactly how I feel. I am not going to pay so much just go get a BSN where I already have an acceptance to a school that is offering me a masters with the same tuition

So a resume is one page right?

Yeah for our purposes, usually one page. Mine was one page.

I am planning to apply to LUC for January 2014, if I don't get in somewhere else first! Their application for spring is only released in September and due in November, so I'm crossing my fingers that I'll know where I'm going before that...

@Sara: Of course you will. It will be at UIC :) with me!

And everyone else on here!
