UIC Graduate Entry Program

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi folks,

Thinking about applying to UIC's GEP program. Anybody here applied and was accepted? What were your stats?

My stats: 3.2 Overall GPA/3.5 Sci BA in Sociology. Office Manager in home health care, tech in a medical equipment co, medical assistant (no cert) in dr's office and later office manager there. Volunteering in Nursing Home around 120 hours...

From what I can tell on their website, after completing the NCLEX, you immediately start the master portion of the program. Is this correct?

@katherinewerner I am not sure if they are sending out emails based on specialty or acceptance status-but I was waitlisted for Adult Gerontology-NP-so maybe the fact that you havent heard yet is good news! I hope you hear soon!

I JUST NOW got accepted for AGPCNP, after I'd heard people had been wait-listed for that specialty. Just thought I'd give people hope that acceptances are still forthcoming.

Waitlisted for School/FNP :(

Guess it's Los Angeles for me...

Accepted to Adult Gerontology Acute Care Specialty!

Accepted to Adult Gerontology Acute Care Specialty!

Congrats girl !

@rainkissedleaves Thank you!

Congrats @katherinewerner and everyone wait listed!! That's better than nothing!! I was not accepted so I will be going to DePaul!! @jmonkeyjen I hope you get off the wait list for UIC but if not, see you in the fall!!

Hi-i am new to the board=but got accepted into PMHNP!

Hey you guys going to DePaul! They are still accepting apps so I'm in the process of submitting one now for Fall 2013 (originally was going to do Jan 2014). So, maybe I might be seeing you :)

Accepted for ACNP. Katherine, are you certain that you're going to enroll? I'm still weighing my options!

For those considering DePaul, I submitted an app for Jan 2014 and haven't heard back yet (my letters of rec are still pending), but I recently went to an info session at Rosalind Franklin, where they'll be offering a cohort (in addition to the one at Lincoln Park) and I was pretty impressed with their program. There's definitely hope yet.
