UFV September 2016 Applicants

Published

Hey everyone!

I don't think there is a September 2016 page yet so I thought I would make one. :) What grades and how many hours are you all applying with? I need people to wait nervously with me. ;)

Yes, I also got that e-mail. :)

Have any of you guys applied to UFV's program before? :)

No I have not this will be my first time... So fingers crossed

I applied last semester and got invited to the info session but didn't get an interview. Hoping for better this time!

I haven't gotten an email saying my application is complete for this intake yet. :/ although I confirmed with health sciences in January that they have all my info.

What were you grades like for the last intake? Did you upgrade your marks for this intake?

Does your application on myufv say it's ready to be reviewed by program?

I'm sure your e-mail is coming! I applied early in December but didn't get the e-mail until the very end of January. :)

I've had an adviser explain the whole selection process to me before, but I was so nervous to even be discussing the topic that I can hardly remember any of it :p Is the invitation to the interview based mostly off of the "essay" you write at the info session?

For the last intake I applied with 2 A's and 2 B's and had under 100 volunteer hours. This intake I have upgraded and have 3 A's and 1 B and over 100 hours. So I'm hoping I'll be considered for an interview this time. It does say ready to be reviewed by program!

The invitation for the interview is based on a point system I believe, from what I can recall from the last info session. They look at the 4 high school classes, and give you points based on your grades. An A is 4 points, a B is 3, and a C is 2 points. The highest you can score is 16 points for the academic part. I think they said anyone with 15-16 points is guaranteed an interview for the most part.

They give you points based on volunteer hours too; 30-50 hours is 1 point, 50-100 hours is 2 points, 100-150 is 3, and 150+ hours is 4 i think. So basically the higher you score on the point system, the more likely you are to get an interview!

And yes the interview selection is also dependent on the essay questions you answer at the info session!

Anybody heard about an info session yet?

I haven't yet.

I have not heard anything either. Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask in the interview? And the essay how is it laid out ?
