UFV January 2014

Published

I am starting a thread for UFV January 2014 applicants..hoping to get a spot in the winter intake! I was wondering if anyone has re-applied to the BSN program.

Hi, new here :) am I too Kate to submit my ( complete ) application etc. for the September 2014 intake?

Just answered my own question! Whoops. Good luck with your applications for January 2014 all.

Does anyone know how you check your status? If so, has your status changed?

I wasn't able to view my application on myUFV around the time I received the invite to the info session and interview. It seems like others on this thread have the same problem of their application disappearing as well.

I did email UFV and they said they would look into it but they never got back to me... Judging from the email they sent out on Nov. 4th I assume that everyone will be notified via snail mail and not online.

I thought we'd be finding out by snail-mail too, but it seems that wasn't the case with me! I just received an email from the school saying that I've been conditionally accepted! :) I'm so excited! They also said that my letter of acceptance will be sent out in a couple of days :)

Congratulations! :)

best of luck!

katmclean,

If you don't mind me asking what was your gpa and to others who haven't received an email yet, what was yours?

I have an 88% gpa (4 A's) and my hours 200+ from the hospital.

I don't mind at all, gg1429 :)

I didn't apply with the greatest of GPA's, as I had 2 A's and 2 B's (chemistry and mathematics aren't exactly my area of expertise...) However, I believe the reason I was accepted was because of the hours I applied with. I've worked in two physiotherapy clinics as a receptionist and physio aid for over six-years now, so I was able to use my work hours at both places when I applied. I also applied with with one-hundred and twenty volunteer hours from the Cancer Agency. So from my experience, it seems that they are more focused on experience than they are grades (although they are both very important!)

I've heard that over 150 hours is competitive, and seeing as most of you have that, I hope that you are also accepted! :)
