UFV Jan 2021 BSN

Published

Hello readers. Just curious if there is anyone out there whom is or has officially applied for the 2021 January intake for the BSN program @ UFV and what your experience has been thus far?

Me, I am working hard at my upgrades. I never thought I would be in my mid 30s and going back to Bio 12 and Chem 11 but here I am. I am working feverishly to get my classes done before Aug 15 as that is the last day your transcript has to be updated to meet the prerequisite requirements. I did and still do find this whole process overwhelming. When I met with the advisor at UFV she told me: English 12, Bio 12, Chem 11, and Math 11, come in with straight A's. I initially kind of thought, really??? Maybe I still do. I had a B+ in English 12. She recommended to pull that up to an A. So I am doing Chem 083 through UFV and Bio(now called Anatomy and Physiology) through online school district. I would be curious to hear if anyone else out there is considering or has applied and how your venture has been so far.

Take care!

I wonder if they are sending out more emails

Also Will the information session be online?

I am sure they will send more emails tomorrow, don't worry! And yes, the information session will be online next Monday, October 5th from 4-6 pm. The interview session will also be online and will be held on October 30th from 9-10 am. Hope that answers some of your questions

Hi everyone!

I received my invitation to the information session this morning around 8am. Mine will be on October 7th between 2-4pm.

Looking forward to the next part of the process!

Hey guys!! I received my invite for Oct 7 2-4pm.

Hey guys!

I received an invitation yesterday as well! Nervous, excited... have all kinds of thoughts running through my head.

Anyway, I’ve been planning everything out, assuming I get accepted, and am wondering what everyone’s plan is in terms of living arrangements and transportation while studying?Student loans are less than I expected and I’m from Delta so I will be moving to Chilliwack if I get in. Will we need vehicles? My insurance rate is absolutely criminal.

So much to consider....

Hi Leah. Nice to hear from you. I haven’t thought too far ahead yet. Trying not to get my hopes too high. At the end of the day this is a tough program that is very hard to get into. That aside, I live close by to the campus so am excited if I do get in.

I didn’t even see what is the student loan for this program?

Oh I know, not getting my hopes up too high either but I know applying early before acceptance is the smart way to go. Plus once it happens, it happens fast! I would need to move and and make sure I have the money to do so in 2 months! Even though that probably won’t be the case... if it is, I want to be ready.

The loan I was approved for was about 10k for the semester. Very tight if I am to have a car On top of rent and tuition. So may consider a bank loan or line of credit so I can survive the program. Worth the extra debt.

Well I’m wishing you and everyone here all the luck on making it through. Your are right Leah, it happens very fast.

which session are you in for? Do you work in healthcare now?

Hi everyone! I was just wondering if anyone knows if UFV is done emailing everyone for the interview session.

Hi there. For the information session or the interviews? The info session is first and it appears they have emailed out invites that last few days. Those that make it through that will likely be invited to an interview.

I believe a access to a car is required because you’ll need to commute for practicums.
