I haven't seen a thread for the traditional BSN program for fall of 2019, so I decided to make one! Applications opened November 9th!
Here's a few stats about me!
In December, I will graduate with my AA from College of Central Florida so I will be applying as a transfer student!
My cumulative GPA is a 3.5
My pre req GPA is a 3.7
Any nursing students that have been admitted, do you have any advice/suggestions for applications? I saw that this year is the first year we have to take the HESI A2 exam, but anything helps!
I am also applying to UCF's nursing program. I haven't decided on any others but I need to look into a few more.
I got a 90 on the HESI, have a 3.87 GPA. I have CNA license, BLS certifications, 144 volunteer hours in ER and Trauma. I was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an honor society. My back ups were USF (got denied from ), UCF (accepted into Daytona, waitlisted for Orlando), FIU (accepted), and then a community college, which I'm waiting to hear back from. I really hope tomorrow is the day we find out about UF.
I'm trying to transfer in from FSU. I applied to both programs and was waitlisted at FSU, but was then ultimately denied (they changed how they did the waitlist this year and wouldn't take anyone off it after two week ago even if someone dropped).
My backup plan if I don't get into UF this year is to change my major to social work and then apply again next year to UF, FSU, UCF, USF etc... I just technically finished my freshman year, but was able to apply early because I had most of my prereqs done from dual enrollment.
I have a 3.75 overall GPA, scored a 85% on HESI with 9000 critical thinking, member of Phi Eta Sigma (honor society), member of various clubs, and have over 200 volunteer hours at local major hospitals in patient care and also worked in a leadership positions with various jobs.
We'll see what happens soon hopefully ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Awesome applicants this year! I have a 3.85 prerequisite GPA and a 92.4 overall on the HESI. Nursing home + hospital experience over 350 hours, mentored a high school student, health fair committee, various community service stuff, and some jobs! I’m really praying for all of us!
Kenneth had emailed me on March 25th whether or not I had completed the HESI A2 exam, and that I would have to let him know no later than May 26th. So, my best guess is that we may be finding out next Friday, but hopefully today. ALSO, question: I just realized this and it may be a major mess-up, but I took the HESI A2 exam at Miami Dade College and then sent my transcripts to UF. What I didn't realize is that MDC does not test for the Critical Thinking portion. As this is UF's first year doing the entrance exam, I'm hoping they'll overlook that as I did complete the exam and did everything else. I was still sent the personality assessment the day after, so I'm wondering whether I should give up hope because of that mess-up?
