2015 UF BSN Admissions

Hey guys! So I just joined allnurses, but I have been watching the forums for the UF BSN Admissions for a while. I realized there is not an active one yet for 2015 and I would like to get it started! I know we all are anxious still from letting go of our applications April 5 and now we are waiting until June to hear the results! I am currently a UF student and I am really hoping to get into this fantastic program. I hope to attract students that were previously accepted to hear what they have to say about the admissions process and the program itself! Essentially, I wanted a place where I could discuss my nervousness with people that understand! (Plus, I know everyone is curious as to what caliber of students we are facing this year as well!!)

Who else out there applied for Fall 2015?

Hahaha you got that too? I was like oh gosh they sent it out via NursingCas?! That wasn't the plan guys!! lol my heart can't take this haha

That email creeped me out also. Most emails I got from NursingCas are so pointless, haha. I got so many about dnp programs and I'm like I don't even have a bachelors degree! Haha it seems like a repeat of every year (taking longer than expected to hear from them)

I know I can't take it! And yes I think that's just what happens every year and we always just hope that we'll be the year that finds out sooner than previous ones haha :)

No response to my email yet... maybe they are still trying! I really don't understand what makes sending out emails so difficult :/

Hopefully they're still working on the emails! Yeah I don't know either :/ i also thought maybe they could just update our status on NursingCAS since we all had to make an account to apply. Who knows though, there may be certain rules or protocols that they have to follow when it comes to doing this that we don't know about.

I get it, but I find it strange that this happens EVERY year for UF Nursing admissions. I feel like this is something they should have standardized by having a date where letters (or emails) will be sent out. It is unnecessarily more stressful for us applicants. Just my opinion...

I agree haha It's a tough wait. Just trying to stay positive in that at least we will find out very soon. Hopefully the waiting will be worth it in the end!

We all are!! I can't believe it's almost time to find out after two years! It felt like it would never be my turn to find out! haha

On another note, what kind of nurses do y'all think you want to be? :)

I know! haha I think I would like to specialize in Neonatal care. I worked in the NICU at Shands and loved it! What about you?

I'm not completely sure yet! I love kids and babies, so I'm considering Peds or Labor and Delivery! I also am interested in oncology, possible pediatric oncology! I volunteered at the Children's Cancer Center in Tampa and absolutely loved all the kids there. So we'll see! Right now I think I'm leaning towards labor and delivery, but I'm hoping that clinicals will help me narrow it all down! :)
