Hello Everyone!

I'm getting this forum started early for those who are applying to the UF College of Nursing's Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program!

Feel free to get the discussion going... How do you stand among others (GRE, GPA, etc)? Go Gators! :)

Ok I just wrote him and he said letters will be going out first thing next week. Ugh!

Blehh. Thanks for asking!! Haha, we'll find out before mid March I'm sure:) ...at least I hope

1 more week guys ! I live in Miami so I know that the letters going take so time to get to me.

It's UF spring break so maybe that's what they were waiting for

When is UF spring break over ?

@me10 uf spring break is the first week of march.. classes resume the second week.

I think letters will start arriving the second week!

Anyone else still need CPR? The class I signed up for canceled.. Going to look for a class in Gville over the next few weeks...been busy taking care of my girlfriend so difficult to schedule in...doctor/PT visits almost everyday. She is making awesome progress though and will be back at work for a few hours every week starting Monday.

Look forward to seeing all of you posting that you were accepted over the next few weeks!!

Faculty at UF still has to work over spring break, so it's very possible letters could be mailed next week.

@gatorandrew I did my CPR course through recsports at UF. $70 and they should have plenty of spots available if you sign up on their website in advance.

They said letters will go out next week so I think we should start receiving letters late next week or early 2nd week!

@gatorandrew I did my CPR class through gatorcpr for somewhere around $50 to $60! But it didnt include bls

Is the CPR license a requirement for admission into this program ?

It will be a necessity to have. So people are going ahead and getting it out of the way because they know they will need it. Most programs say you have to have it before class starts or by the time you start your clinicals. I lost my card and the person who was suppose to send a copy keeps forgetting so I'm thinking about just going ahead and doing the class all over again. At least my work does it for free though. Most clinical sites will not let you participate without it. Plus you need it as a nurse so you might as well get it. :)

I don't think the coordinator would say this week if it was next week. However, he did say the first time by the end of February. But starting to send them out the following week would be way too late. In fact I think sending them out this week is too late but we have no choice in that. By the time we get the letter we'd have like 2 months to get everything ready before school starts.

Fingers crossed letters go out today! I wish everyone in Gainesville could just stop in, but I know the system's in motion. I'm sure we'll all be posting if we hear something over the next few days. :)
