Hello!
I noticed that there isn't a thread yet for all of us who are thinking about applying next summer for UF's Accelerated BSN. I know it's only June but I can't be the only one who is already stressing about the application process, the essays, not being good enough, etc. ?
Hopefully this thread can be a place where we can ask questions and support each other throughout the process!
A little about me: I currently attend UF as a Health Education major and would love to stay here and study at the Gainesville campus, but if I get into the Jacksonville one I will gladly go there! They're also requiring the HESI exam this year and I was wondering if anyone knew any tips and tricks. I've only ever heard of the TEAS! I find it so interesting that this one tests our anatomy/physio knowledge, but also kinda frightening because anatomy at UF was a nightmare for me LOL.
Good luck ya'll! We got this!

I would also like to know because my stats are similar to this ^ and I also have been working at UF as a CNA for almost a year now.

I scored a 90 on the HESI and I have a 3.2 GPA overall so I don't think their decisions weighed heavily on scores or GPA. I do have a strong professional background, experiences and work PRN as a CNA. I think that the essay questions and your answers really influence decisions. It is trully a holistic decision.
Yeah I can see myself getting denied due to GPA but I have a lot of work experience, and I've done unique things like be a founding member for a campus based medical response unit that responds to emergencies
If its based on holistic then I know for a fact I have the most holistic application because fo the things I have done and programs I created so it makes no sense to me.

The only stats I know is my HESI score. I got a 92, but I hadn’t taken A/P 2 which my score reflects, and it is something I explained in my essays Since I also completed grad school, education courses (I’m an elementary school teacher), and some others for personal growth I’m not sure where to begin calculating my GPA. I get good grades (mostly A’s and earned either A’s or B+’s in my science courses and pre-req’s with the exception of stats for which I earned a C during a time I was juggling too much. For what it’s worth, I honestly think my essays got me in. I was able to tell a story of my experiences and challenges as a mom, student, and career person in an already tough field.
