2013 UF Accelerated BSN Applicants!

I am gatorguy3380, and I am planning on applying to the UF Accelerated BSNprogram beginning in 2013! I have been steadily working my way through my prerequisites and am studying for my GRE as we speak. I have been eyeing thisprogram for a while and have found that this thread is a great way to shareexpectations and successes for those pursuing entrance into this prestigiousprogram.

So it seems like everyone on here likes to know each other's "stats."So since I seem to be the originator here you go! I have a BS from FlaglerCollege in St. Augustine that I received 6 years ago. My GPA from my last 60was 3.55. I have completed Human Nutrition, Statistics, Human Growth andDevelopment, and A&P 1, all with A's. My overall college GPA is just a hairover a 3.0. I am currently in Micro and plan on taking A&P II in the springjust prior to admission. I am 32, a male, and used to be a law enforcementofficer. I feel that with a combination of my academics and my personalexperiences, with a solid GRE score (which I haven't taken yet) and stay ontrack with my pre-reqs I stand a good chance of getting in!

Just because I posted my info, there is no need to post yours. I like the ideaof meeting some of my future cohorts on this life course change and createdthis tread so that we could all find a sense of comfort in a tiny sharedcommunity! Good luck to all and I will enjoy interacting with you here!

Will they tell us via email, or do I need to be looking for a letter in the mail?

If it is the same as last year, they will let us know by mail.

Well....It's February 6th....we're getting closer :yes: :up:

I believe they let us know by mail....large envelope, acceptance...small envelope, rejection...or at least that's how it was last year.

I applied to USF and they said they have about 300 applicants per year. Maybe it's around the same for UF but I'm hoping it's smaller this year! lol

sooooo I say we have entered mid-February :up:

This has officially consumed my thoughts. Yep, they have either (1) looked at our applications or (2) are currently looking at them. EEK! Why does the shortest month of the year seem sooooooo long?

Are any of you current UF students? Just wondering if there was some way we could check our ISIS to see updates.

I'm a current UF student and I have no idea about anything. They haven't really given us much information to go on.

I am a current UF student and I don't believe you can check Isis... Last year it was just a waiting game until we received letters in the mail. Hopefully they send them out soon... I am a little concerned because they said they would send them out at the end of February which likely means we will get them the first week of march, which is during spring break and ill be 3 hours away in my hometown... So in that case if you guys get anything the first week in march, can you post? Ill want to drive back here to check my mail! Haha

I didn't think there was one either, but so many schools have online updates I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

One thing that I noticed today was that the regular (non accelerated) BSN application deadline is March 1st for fall of 2013. This may just be my runaway deductive reasoning. Logic tells me however that the CON is trying to have our decisions out before the traditional program deadline so that they are not inundated. If this is the case then I feel more confident that our decisions will come sooner rather than later. Last year's class had to wait more than a month longer than they anticipated for decisions, hopefully we all can avoid that!

Good news...

I have a good friend who spoke with a CON professor & they said to expect to hear something just before spring break...

The last day of classes before spring break is March 1st (which is a Friday)...So I'm assuming it means either earlier that week, March 1st, or 2nd...since they dont deliver mail on Sundays.

It's getting closer....fingers crossed :roflmao:
